Hello. I have a online friend from philippines. She was getting admission in a college. She said that she have to go medical test to get admission in college. It's the rule in phils. She said that if some student is having hiv aids then he/she is not admitted in college. I'm from India and we dont have such kind of rule here. I think this kind of rule is unjustified because a brilliant student can lose his seat due to such reasons. Whats ur opinion on it? Cheers.

I think it is unjustified as well. Just because you may have a medical condition doesn't mean anything about your intelligence. Somebody who has hiv/aids could definitely contribute and become a great doctor. I know this rule isn't true in the U.S.

Well in our university online in some courses that medical test is mandatory. For example medical course have a mandatory medical test. But for other courses i don't think they have any. I know one person who has found out that he has a diseases because of this medical test and is prone to get infected with diseases so being a doctor or a nurse is really not that good to begin with when you are the prone one than your patients.

it really depends on what course you would like to get in. these rules usually apply to those wanting to take up nursing or any medical course.
