why ego comes in between?

i have often seen people swearing that they can do anything for their lovers... but the moment they fight...their ego comes in between for admitting their mistakes... they can't even say sorry to the person for whom they promise to spare their life even....
why is it that ego comes in between???

your question brought to mind the horrible quotation i've read awhile - “I have money in Nigerian bank but need money to get it”.
a person deserve to be loved but a person cannot love without his/her ego. somewhat confusing but the logic is obvious :D

Ego is a very dangerous virus in between two beautiful hearts. We shall immediately delete that with a strong virus that is called "sweet smile". We just have to give our ocean of our love to our loved ones.
Share the love of ocean but not the ego.
