As students, we usually go to libraries to study or even to borrow some books we need to read or to recollect information about several asignatures.
Sometimes, we also use it only to read some books without buying those during our free time or holidays.
But since you left college, do you still use any library to borrow any book to read?

are you kidding me? have you seen the cost of books these days? i cannot afford to buy new books, nor do i want to! ifi buy a book, its used but better still is the library. the library is just nowagain coming into vogue.
as a family, we go there at least once a week for movies, magazies, books, etc.

Hi cher913,
Books are really very expensive nowadays, here too. But, I know many people who don't like reading books, so they never buy anyone and don't go to the library neither. One of my dreams is to have an own library at home, but this dream is not within my financial possibilities. So I also use the public library once a week to show my children the importance of reading.

Libraries are a great place to get relaxed together with information. Here, we also can borrow already some music or documentary films. With the time, as more users the libraries get, more information (books, films, etc.) they offer. The library where I usually go to offers already internet access for all users. There are like ten computers and you can use them free of charge.

Ebooks are a great way to read and you can get many of them for free or under a low cost through internet. But I rather prefer the library, as you say that the presence of books is different. The library is like a place of human knowledge.

I like going to the Library to look through books for one reason or another. I am actually thinking of going to the library soon to look through some books on scholarships and how to better my chances of getting a good scholarship for college. If I don't know if I like an author I go to the library to borrow one of their books then check it out.

Sometimes, we learn more reading a book than studying, always if the books keeps our full attention and consider an interesting theme. Reading is another kind of studying which isn't so boring. That's why I love historical novels and biographies.

since i left college, i don't go to the library anymore. coz i am not allowed in universities and our local library that is open to the public, don't even have useful books for people like me.
when i am rich enough, i might establish my own library that only has the books i approved of and i like, open to all ages, students or not... plus a special section for naruto anime lovers :)
i just thought of that now, i'll put it in my bucket list

That's great, it's also one of my dreams to open my own library with many books, also ebooks, computers, coffee and sofas, a cultural and silent place where where to rest reading books.

like you, i've also finished my college degree and to tell you the truth, i don't really visit libraries anymore. even when i was studying, i could even count the times i've been in the library using my fingers haha. sure, there were times wherein the library was very important for me to go to because this is where i review back when we are having our examinations at school. also, when i was still in my first and two years of college, we always go to the library to research certain topics that our lecturer would give us as an assignment. but today, i have no reason and purpose in going to the library unless it's very urgent and important =) but still, i'd be willing to as long as i'm with a friend =)

Well, I started visiting the library after I finished school, because I didn't want to loose the habit of reading. During the studies, I rather prefered to buy the books I needed.

Libraries are a great option for students, you are right. There you find not only books or internet, but also muscic, cd's, dvd's etc. More space, more silent...and everything free.

I stil use the library to do different things. SOmetimes I borrow a book from an author I would like to read but am unsure if I would like. Or I will go to the library to research some things I am interested. I acutally think tomorrow I might run down to the library

If there is an author that I want to read and not sure if I would like their writing I would go to the library and take out one of their books. that way I don't have to spend the money on something I might not like. Or if I need to do research. I know there are plenty of sites on the internet for research but I still like doing book research for some things. Can't use the internet for EVERYTHING.

You are right, sometimes it might be a risk to buy something which we are not sure about. And internet is only a complementary option, but it's faster if you don't have enough time for your research.

Hi, camomile07. No. I don't buy books that much, but I do check out many library books to read though. I have went to the local library to check out some books for me and for my children. This was in February and in March, I have enjoyed doing this too. I love to sit down at the library and read many magazines about beauty and fashion. I enjoy spending time in the library during my quiet and free time.

It's a very nice experience for children and for everyone to spend time with the family or even the one free time we've got. We never should loose this habit.

I'm a huge avid reader, but really I prefer to buy books over borrowing them. I don't think new books are expensive at all. But still recently I've been trying to save money so I haven't been buying ANYTHING, and when I do that then I go to the library. I really love the library. It has such a great selection of books, and my library even has lots of movies and audio books (and more). The library's still very popular, it's always crowded when I go there.

Libraries never get oldfashioned, as it's a big place of human knowledge and even to meet people. The variety makes it so interesting.

My children are 15 & 17 and they are always at the library. Not just their school work but they borrow movies and speeches and music cd's. All that from the library. Yes, we still have a computer at home and they use that alot for their studies but I don't think anything will replace the library. All my kids like to read as much as I do and the library is the way to go. Cannot afford to purchase books nowadays. Way to expensive. I do buy some online books for my kindle occasionally but still use the library.
Long live the library system.

That's right, we never should forget to use the libraries and show to our children and to other people to use them. It was a great idea to put the knowledge on to the service of the public and I rather prefer to see my children inside a library too, instead of hanging around with a company they should not share. Nowadays, we never can study and read enough.

I love libraries! Unfortunately, I have not scoured the bookshelves of the public library in our city to see if there are interesting books for me to borrow. Plus, because of my busy schedule, I know I cannot finish a book before the due date to return the book.

It's a pity not to have enough time to read those books. Maybe it'll changes in the future.

i havent really used a library since middle school. with the rise of the internet, you can find articles and other research materials online, and download ebooks for free. plus with sites like amazon, half, ebay, and abe.com, you can find almost any book or college textbook, mainstream or obscure, on the cheap, sent directly to your house. my own personal library has definitely expanded since i registered for a paypal account

That's right, I also use Internet for reading and buying. The download and the offer of ebooks and others is very wide. And the instant payment of PP is very usefull, too. But even so, sometimes I need a book in my hands even if it's a free one from the library.
