I am now 26 and I have been living on my own since I was 18. Sometimes, it sinks in me how I miss living with my parents. Like not being able to eat on your own and waking up with people in your house. It's not like I dont like the life I have now that I dont live with them but just that I get to miss them at times. I visit my parents which is an hour drive from where I live every week. I always see to it that I get to spend with them.

Yeah, I know. Every time we give each other a call, We always end up being sad. But the good thing is we are able to share to each other what we have been doing. And when I have done something successful. they are just so proud of me. makes me miss them more.

Hi Shynie, its good that you can visit your parents every week. I am miles away from my parents . I met my mother recently after three years and it was an emotional re-union. But now that she is gone, i already miss her. I am not sure when i'll see her again. It's very hard to live without parents not because we gotta be independent but we have so much emotional attachements with them. My hubby is always by my side so he makes sure i don't get depressed missing my parents much. But still I can't wait to go back to see my parents!

Oh that's sad. I know they do miss you too.. With my own experience, no matter where I am and what I do I still think of them. So that even if we dont live together. They could still feel my presence.

I hope when my daughter turns your age or before then, she will miss being around us too. she also moved out when she was 18, now 19 and she never had the time or gumption to see us.

Oh that is sad. Do you get to talk to her in the phone? I hope she will at least make a way to see you too. But dont worry, she is your daughter, there will always be something to bind you even with distance.

Hi there, I miss living with my parents too. i moved out from my parents' house when I was 20 years old. It was a tough decision for me since i don't know what my life would be without my mom by myside. plus, am not that stable enough to live a life on my own. good thing, my partner's been there to support me... she's in charged of condominium rental and association dues while i am in charged of electricity bills(oh well, half of it) and grocery shopping... that is why i am working real hard online to sustain our needs... every week, i always make sure to visit my mom... sometimes, i stay at our house for 3 days so i wouldn't miss them..

I've lived with my parents till I was 29! And, like you, I still miss living with them. I go home ocassionally, too, because my room is still there but, it's not as often as yours because it's 7-8 hours away from where I live now.

That's far, but at least with the technology now, I am sure you always keep in touch with them.

I agree you are lucky to live with your parents. But you must be prepared we cannot say what will happen next, you must learn how to live in your own someday. Good luck and Godbless!!

Yes, everyone of us should also learn how to live without our parents. That is to exercise your own independence and learn to meet with responsibilities on your own.

I'm agree with your opinion,Thereza. i think that when the boys grown up he must be look after the family, the baby with his wife,so he should be independence before marriage.

I miss living with them too. I left from home when I got married. I love my life with my own family now. But sometimes I look back and wish to go back to those days. When my sister and I we both live together in the same house. My family is very closed and my parents are really great parents. Is good that you at least can visit them on the weekends. I don't see mines in almost four years now. I miss them so so much.
