I used to buy books especially when Theres a new one written by my fave authors and just buy it the read it for a day then would later regret that I should have just buy it for a shirt/dress because I can wear it again wherein the book that I just bought I just read it for a few hours then after I am done with it i'll just leave it in the table and let someone borrow it.
With free ebooks now being offered online (you just have to know where to find your books, took a lot of patience to browse the net) I stopped buying hardbaound books. I like it better because its free, does not gather dust, the spece it occupies is in my pc and I can just read it agaain in a jiffy if I am in the mood to read it again and not look for it all over the house.
How about you? do you like hardbound books or ebooks?

Hi, for me i personally prefer hardbound books. I wonder is it because i'm more traditional. But, I find that hold a book gives me a better feeling than reading an ebook. The feeling is just different. Furthermore, unlike what you mention, i find free ebooks very difficult to find. Most of those that are free are stories which are not very nice.
For me, i used to purchase books but over the years, i find that i read them only once and now i go to the library to borrow plus, it's free!

I love books but I found out taht I like free stuff more! hahaha
PM me and send me your email add. and your book list. Maybe some of the books that you want are in my collection (pdf or .doc format, some are in .LIT)
I am too lazy to go to the library and sometimes I don't get to read there for I am too distracted to talk with someone I know. So, I do my reading in the privacy of my room or in the house :)

Yes, i like to borrow books from the library to bring back home to read. Especially in my own private space where I can really enjoy what's in the book.
I don't have a book list because i just take anybook i like off the shelve.
For us, we have a national library in almost every estate and therefore it's quite convenient to go to the library. :)

I prefer a book that I can hold onto. This is because I really don't like sitting at a computer to read articles all the time. I just prefer to be able to hold a book and read without getting as tired as I would if I was reading it off the computer screen. I was so think it's better for the eyes to be reading from a book than a lit screen.

I also like to read and yes it is eye straining reading a book in a computer (it's just getting Used to, I guess. I am infornt of the computer alot so not that straining for me. and I am a fast reader so I can be finish with a book in one sitting. I don't know why BUt If I started a book I can't put it down until I am done with it. That's one of the reason why I opted to have ebooks because one: it's free, two: it's free!)
have to be frugal nowadays so I limit myself to buy books. I love books but I would regret buying it after coz after I am done reading, after awhile think I could have just spent my dime for a food or a dress. :)

Hi. missyphoebe. Welcome to myLot, if I have not have already told you so! I prefer to read hard bound books. My eyes are easily adjusted to reading hard bound books instead of an ebook online. I like to have books that I can keep into my possession.

Ebooks are cheap, but I will never buy one. I like the smell of books, always have and always will. I like to carry books around, I think my eyes spend enough time as it is in front of the computer. Quite frankly, ebooks suck--that my personal opinion.

Like the others, I personally favor a hard bound book. I like feeling the pages and flipping them as I read. It's like having a comforting feeling that I can't describe. I have nothing about e-books but sometimes they cause my eyes to work harder becuase of the laptop that I use for reading. Also, I find it hard to read an ebook in my bed where I usually read my stuff.

I have the same thought just like you that is why i started downloading free e-books but after many e-books that i've read i have returned reading hardbound books because it was much easier and not that eye straining...in reading e-books i have to stay long in front of the computer and it started to affect my eyes so i'm back in reading hardbounds...

I admit that It could be an eye straining in reading ebooks but it's free. :) when I like a book I would buy it but have to think if I really need it, but if I don't really need it I would search for it in the net if its available for free.
nobody says no for a freebie, right?
enjoy reading! what kind of books do you like? I am more into romance, fantasy and triller genre. I am looking forward to the new books of terry goodkind. I heard that there would be a series parallel to his SOT series

I go for the hardbound books. I have such a difficult time reading things online for such a lot time. It can be a little unpleasant, especially as i really enjoy reading. I find it just easier reading a hardbound book. I always have, and I still do. I think that it will be a while before I covert to ebooks, if that day ever comes. I don't really see myself doing so, though.

I love hardbound books because for me they are much easier to read unless you have a kindle or such. I usually read ebooks in my computer but i always got bored because i read it horizontally were i usually read books downward.

Hardbound book can be stylish and its pretty classy to bring when you travel. But i prefer ebook personally because it's more convenient to read. I always read books during the night especially in bed before going to sleep and it takes me hours before I noticed that it was late night. I can read my ebooks even when the lights are off. I read it thru my favorite gadget, kindle and sometimes thru my smartphone or desktop.
And one thing ebook saves space unlike the bulky hardbounds in which you need to keep in a bookshelf :].
