I get more males that want to be my friend on Facebook than I do with females.

I really wonder about this. I have requested to be friends with both males and females on Facebook. But since I have been a member of this site, I have had many males request to be my friend on Facebook rather than females. If you are a Facebook user or a past Facebook user have you noticed this too? It makes me wonder why more males than females would rather be friends with me, then females. I mean I know many people that are males and females, so why is it just males that are only requesting to be friends with me instead? I feel that a person can request that any gender be friends with them regardless of what their gender is, don't you think?

Hi cream97 Seems to be something that happens to a lot of members on facebook because I too use to get a lot more males requesting. I no longer have my profile in my primary account to the public because I only accept people I know directly offline. On my secondary one though it is public and I do see where more males have requested there too. I think it should be a mix and as long as we allow requests, especially if the intent is not to date, at least for me I do not see an issue with either gender requesting.

I agree with you. I tend to get a lot more female requests than males. I think it is just one of the mysteries of social media. The opposite gender seems to gain more confidence to approach people of the opposite gender.

Beautiful avatar displayed in fb is another reason to attract the opposites as well. It's doesn't matter the gender of our friends as long as we have lots of interesting stuffs to share with Have a niceday

HI! I don't encounter such problems as I hardly request friends and most of my friends in Facebook are known friends and the rest are my friends' friends. If someone request to be my friends it come from both, male and female friends. Yes, a person can request any gender of friends as many as you like.

Probably because your name and flower pic signifies that you are female. Remember that this is a social site too. As for me I am happy to say that people from both gender are asking me to be their friend for reasons like they like the way I answered one of the questions, they are business oriented like me and some of them have recognize my nick from a defunct chat or techno gadget site.

To me theres nothing wrong with having more male friends than girls because its common that you may know more than you think you know....i have alot of friends mainly boys but i get to know the girls better than the guys because its like you have more to understand with being near girl rather than males.....theres no saying that you cant have both guys and girls as friends its just that you might have more resons from girls than guys or probably guys than girls....theres really no explaination only getting to know that person very well......for me i get see different things people dont understabd in themselves from a girl or guy perspectives!!!!

Maybe just because you are in pending request from those girls you requested. Then why would you add random boys more than you do to random girls? Or you could just delete those male friends and add females... :)

because we guys are more interested to make friend from both genders while girls always prefer to one gender than the other

Dear friend, I feel it is natureal law as opposite gender like other. Anyhow in my accound I hope I do have much of male friends, even though I had not been there for long times. May be it is part of our life, where a man like a women and the reverse. It is also interesting that humans like to explore that is unknown. As male know he is male and could be explored himself and it is also much easy to approach anther of same gender. But male like to explore other women, may be variety of women as they do have that freedom to explore those other gender according to their wish.

Hard to say. I think it depends on how you know these people? You know are they old friends? Or from various sites? And some people like to collect friends no matter how much they do or don't know the person they request to be friends with.

I would think that it would be fine to put in requests for either gender. I might feel nice to have more men than women rerequesting to be friends with me. I certainly wouldn't have a problem with it. Are you flirting with them too cause maybe they like that and girls are jealous.

Hi cream: In my opinion, males are actually more active on facebook and they are also usually more looking for some persons to be friends that women do. At least that's what I've seen. I visit my facebook account several times a day. ALVARO
