I want to talk about telephones, L.O.L.,I remember when I was little and I was visiting my grand parents and I remember the old black rotary phone they had, and how long the cord was you could go all over the house with that old phone, he he he, I was thinking do you remember how long the cords were to the old rotary dial phones Where you could go all over the house and even outside the house too!! Then there were the purple and see through phones that all the teenagers just had to have! Then came along the cordless phone where you can go anywhere but when you did if you went to far you would loose the signal, L.O.L., And now the cell phones have went to cheap to better and better. I was just thinking about how time goes so fast and things change in technology so fast! What did we do back then when all we had was a rotary phone with a long cord and a boxed black and whit t.v. and smaller phone and electric bills? What a good time then!!

I remember those black phones well, but I can't recall how long the cord was. You just couldn't destroy those. Drop it on the floor and you damaged the floor rather than the phone. I wonder how many people were killed by those phones. Must be some - "hit by a blunt weapon"! They make today's phones look like toys.

L.O.L. Damage the floor not the phone!! I hope no one was ever killed by one that would be sad.

Oh yes the good ol' days. It always appeared that those rotary phones were centrally located in the homes so you could travel all over the house. The cords always got twisted up in a knot. I loved it when grandma got off the phone and I would hang the handle upside down and watch it untangle. It would just spin and spin, faster and faster. It just made me laugh. Unfortunately, the kids these days don' know what they missed out on. The tv's with the bunny ears. I bet the kids don't even know what bunny ears are. They can watch tv on their phones. Best Wishes!

I have a memory of a big black dial phone from childhood and I also recall having a phone with a really long cord which used to run down the passage all the way to my room whenever my boyfriend was on the line! The first cordless phones had those big long antennas that you had to adjust as you moved around the house. These days they are definitely getting smaller and smaller. I wonder if they’ll be able to drill a cell phone in our teeth in the near future….Lol!

I can very well recall thre days when there waz no such thing s a cordless telephone or a cell phon of any kind. the old rotary phones were all that we knew. They were so cumbersome and clumsy to use. technology has come a long way in the name of telephones and communication.

lol I remember stretching it so far that the poor cord was so thin that one day it snapped because I guess the plastic cover wore out and the fibers snapped apart.
I also remember cooking and going back and forth and accidentally wrapping the cord all around me. It was a wonder I never strangled myself. But yes they were very reliable though. Although mine were not rotary mine were button and still the cord had to be replaced several times.
