What Job You Swear You'll Never Do - Ever?

So, I guess you pretty get it with the title. Most of us hate our jobs we have right now. Why? Because we humans have the tendency to hate what we have and love what we do not have. That's just us. But there would always be something we know by ourselves that we would not even dare to do in our whole life.
What would it be for you? I am talking about job here and nothing else so, what job will you never as much as possible do in your entire life? Something you'd rather die than do? And we are talking about LEGAL jobs here okay? NOT ILLEGAL.
Personally, I'd never want to be a nurse or doctor or caregiver. I hate seeing wounds and blood... they make me dizzy.. hahaha.. Well, I also am not that caring.
I think I also would not want to be a lawyer. Why? That has a big income, you might say. But I'm thinking, if I would be a lawyer, at times, I would have to twist the truth and defend the wrongdoers and I do not find that good or cool.
I guess I just dumped two of the highest paying jobs in the world.
Anyways, how about you? What do you think?

I never had a job I didn't love! My first job was cleaning out the pig's pen,in my bare feet. I can still remember the cool sensation as the manure squished up between my toes.I've had many jobs, one was doing Janitorial work where I cleaned toilets in a large factory. Now I'm a Beekeeper at age 77, caring for the honeybees and making Honey. I love this job so much I will never retire. Working is not about money, its all about being proud of your work!

Wow, that is a great positive outlook! I think that being happy and proud of your job is important, but it's also difficult to actually achieve. I think if you can be happy at 77 with whatever job you are in, you have succeeded. Great job!

I couldn't be a waitress. Whether at a lowly restaurant or a five star restaurant, I could not do it. It angers me greatly when I heard someone talk to their serving in a demeaning manner. It ticks me off when I see someone leave and not leave a tip. And I'm not the one who suffers, the workers are! One day I was having lunch at a restaurant and the woman one table over was being rude to her waitress. I was incensed. I called the waitress over and told her how great she was, and how patient she must be because so many people are rude to their servers. I could tell she was relieved I said something nice to her. And when the waitress walked away I looked at the rude woman. And she looked shame faced. If I had been the actual waitress I probably would have been fired. Because I would NOT be able to refrain from saying something I'd regret if I had been that woman's waitress.

I agree with you Ambie. My first thought when I read the title was that I could never be a waitress. The work seems very hard...on their feet all the time and then they have to put up with rude people. I'd be tempted to spill a few trays into a few laps..so I wouldn't last long either :)
Good for you for sticking up for that waitress. People forget waitresses are humans too.

I have worked in and out of food service for years. I did bookkeeping for quite sometime, but I stay home with my son during the day and am back to waitressing at night. It CAN be tough to deal with rude people. But I must say, for the most part we get nice people. Then occassionally there are those that are SUPER nice and rarely those that are rude. I would say, maybe one per shift at the most. That is for me personally though. I kind of have a good way with people in person. But there are those cusotmers that truly think they are better than you and can be very degrading.I just keep in the back of my mind that they just don't know any better. And if they do, shame on them. I thin kyou get so busy with other customers that you just have to brush it off and move on. Eventually at the end of the night, you can look back and say, wow, I had this one customer that was such a jerk, but most of my other customers were pretty cool. Thanks for respecting us servers to yo both! :-)

hi bannyhbanzie oh for me a woman police officer, scary what all police face doing their jobs and no not ever be a judge as I would always worry about making an error, too much responsibility for me. also working in a fast food joint not ever not ever no way not at all. I loved working as a nurses aide on the surgical floor and as a page in the library, caring for others I loved doing,I felt I was doing worthwhile work and justifying the space I take up on earth. nor would i want to be the drive of a locomogtive either. so I gess I was lucky to work in a hospital most of my life as I enjoyed that so much.blood and gore were all part of life and did not upset me. losing a patient did of course.
My father was a doctor and I grew up loving helping othes well or ill.

I use to work with my passion which is inclined with arts.
But due to this global recession ,the two company that i am working with forcibly closed for the meantime.
So,i ended up with a job that is never been in any relation to my previous work/career .
I never lasts to that work (call center job)-it's really one of the most stressed job that i've ever had.
The salary is pretty cool and the incentives are really tempting and my team mates are good ones and also no permanent since they're resigning one by one (hehehe)
I once dreamed to be a doctor,i like to operate and see how our body parts works...it's amazes me.

Anything where I'd have to wear a suit and sell things to people. Suits are for comformists and selling involves too much lying, or at least exaggerating. Lawyers and politicians would be included because you're still selling something.

I disagree here. Just because you wear a suit (or formal dress) does not mean you are a conformist; it simply means your job requires it. A doctor wears a coat, a nurse wears scrubs, and most retail jobs have some sort of dress code.
Clothes don't make people, and grouping them together makes you a conformist to stereotyping people you don't know. I wear formal dress because my job requires it. At home, I am wearing jeans and a t-shirt. So, while I am not a liar, not trying to sell you something, but I am in public service, so I think you could group me in with the lawyers and politicians..... But that doesn't make me dishonest or a conformist, it simply means that I wear what my requred dress code entails.

Doctors and lawyers are just two of the many high paying jobs, but there are so many more jobs out there that pay more. One job I would never ever take on would be an accountant. Numbers are just not my strong point. I've had lots of trouble with math in school coming up. Some people numbers come easily to them but for me, numbers are my weakness. You gotta not only add and subtract, but you have to multiply, divide and sometimes you have to do this to fractions and decimals. :( It's just too confusing. My mom had a degree in accounting and yet she's not working anymore let alone in her right mind and my sister is still trying to get a degree in accounting.

I work in an accounting job, and while I am good with numbers and I love math, it is also stressful because there's always a deadline, always people wanting paid. I work in government, so there's also always someone higher they can go to if they aren't happy with the answer I give them. It's public service on top of it, so I have to deal with people regularly.

Well, being a single mom, I discovered that there was probably not many jobs that I would NOT do in order to support my family. That being said, there are jobs that I would do but all the while be looking for something else. I hated waitressing with a passion. I did it for a short while because it was what was available at the time. You work hard, your boss only has to pay you some ridiculously low amount of pay for your time and if people don't tip good or the place is slow, well, you could put in many hours with literally no pay. Health care...I have a weak stomach when it comes to that stuff and don't think I'd be good. I think it is wrong to get into a field like that just for the money because we are talking about people here that are dependent on our care. Lawyer...couldn't do it for the same reasons as you. I just would not feel good about myself in defending a person whom I know is guilty of some horrible crime.

Hi Bannybanzie,
The job presently I am in is 15 years old and have never felt irritating or exhausting. And the equates to my liking or love for my job.
Now tell what I would never do at any circumstance is Medical Representative. Almost everyday I happen to see a couple of them and hear their artificial tone and plastic smile. You just go around the whole day and some time you might not do well.
Besides this job is something you work you are paid and not work you work no payment.

since i was a kid, i never wanted to be a teacher, because i don't like the idea of going to school and studying everyday. but one time i was able to work as a full time tutor and i realized that teaching is a very fulfilling job. but i still think that teacher a regular class is still a very difficult job that i don't want to do.

Hi Bannybanzie, I hate to become doctor, though I respect the position. From child days, I hear everyone saying wish to be a doctor. That time I decided I wont be a doctor at any cost I saw all my friends studied for that profession. And personally I hate medicines and chemicals. So I really dont want to be a doctor, but I admit I would be first person to go to doctor for small cold even. Its a childhood hatred that I will never ever be one.

Well, when it comes to jobs that I will never do again even with the high paying salary - it would my last unfortunate ditch at a call center agency. Understand, in my country, a call center job is like a jackpot job - certainly good salary with a great opportunity to meet people. My first impression was great until I was getting used to the job for nearly 5 months. By that time, I discovered that I'm not good at selling (even my product or service) and I'm getting irritated by people who asks mundane questions, in my opinion. I also kinda getting frustrated of the routine and the ever-changing shifts. Friends would often call me zombie or vampire because they don't see me in the course of my employment. When my time was up, I went out as quickly as I could even though they were considering me for a promotion. I guess I really can't stand it anymore, even with the promotion. My sibling thought I was mad but I wasn't mad enough to kill myself by not having a life.

I couldn't be a doctor or a nurse because I hate anything to do with bodily fluids, and I know that a lot of that job surrounds entirely around that. I have huge respect for people who manage to do that job as I know deep down that it isn't something that I could ever do.
I don't think I could be a waitress either. I have done waitressing jobs but only while I was at college; I couldn't have that as my career for the rest of my life, as it's not very well paid and they also have to be spoken to like dirt by some of the people who they serve. Just not fair on them.
Other than that, I like a challenge, so I'd be prepared to go for anything other than those mentioned above.

I am managerial material but had to start somewhere. So I took up the job of secretary and the work there that I hated the most was filing. My boss used to tease and ask me to search for the paper that he wanted in my 'pile. The day I was promoted was the happiest day of my life

I'm an engineering graduate and my was employed in an electronics company a few years ago. Since I was a fresh graduate and had no license, I was assigned in the most boring section of the plant. I had to put the IC chips into a circuit board ... 100s ... 1000s of small IC chips ... 8 hours/ night shift... and my supervisor did not allow us to have conversations with other workers... I only stayed there for 2 months ... Thant job made me feel so dumb ... the task given to us could be done by an elementary student... I don't regret leaving that job and I swear ...I'd never go back to that company again ...

I could never do anything having to do with bugs, insects, pests or rodents of any kind. They totally freak me out and disgust me.
