Doggie Limps: Splint, Bandaging and Everything.

Two days ago I woke up to see my dog limping towards me for a cuddle. Still half asleep at that time, I wasn't sure if she was really limping or just had a hard time walking past a bed of scattered pillows. And when I confirmed she actually had a leg injury as manifested by her limping, I did the first thing that came to my mind. Splint and Bandages! Having stored knowledge about first aid, I easily managed to splint and bandage her injured leg. Sadly, the vet is out of town and my dog won't get checked for 4 more days. Seeing my dog unable to walk and in discomfort, I am now thinking of taking off the splint. I'm not really sure about it though...

Normally dogs get back to normal after a while if there is no serious injury. I give homoeopathy in such cases. Ruta 200 could be given or Arnica 6 until your doctor arrives.

I'm not really familiar with homeopathy. And I really don't know what Ruta 200 and Arnica 6 are. LOL... But my dog is all good now! I think you were right too. Dogs just heal on their own if there's no serious injury. =]

maybe you try to call another vet while yours is not available and ask their opinion or possibly bring your dog in to see them. hope you find the help u need for your dog soon. and your dog gets all better.

I did that actually. Sadly, when the vet asked me what happened before my dog started limping, I just said "hmmm... we were sleeping?" LOL... It's stupid but true though. Then the vet just said, good thing I did the bandaging to prevent further injury. Haha... BTW, my dog is all good now! =]
