Im getting married soon. In philippines we have a lots of belief of weddings. What to wear, what not no wear, what date to wed, and others. I suppose to choose August 18 as medding date, but that day was going new moon which is a bad luck as to my father. Then i want to have a black & red mottif so that it will follow the vintage them, then again most of my relatives is against it. Do we really have to follow this?

Hello Iloriegh, welcome to mylot. Naturally you would have to conform to the customs and traditions set upon by your ancestors. Out of respect for them, I advised you to comply. As they often say, there's nothing for you to lose when you follow these guidelines.

It is. And if it is really against your best interest to follow them, wanting your wedding to be extra unconventional, you may do so. After all, it is still your wedding. Just fully make them understand of your wishes to be left alone when it comes to your wedding preparations. Just tell them gently, I think they will understand.

I really wish I could help you to answer this, but I don't know the customs of where you live. I hope things work out for the best for you though!!

Yes dear, If our parents are believing these all things then obviously we have to with them. We don't have to change our routes on a different way. If you will go as per your relatives or parents decisions then it will be OK for both of your life.
