Last night, we attended the 7th birthday party of our boss' son. It was held in a rented place where there is a big swimming pool. We arrived late, so when we arrived the children are all in the swimming pool, swimming and shouting.
It was already late in the evening so some mommies are telling their children to get off the swimming pool so they could go home. OMG! They all don't want to yet! Two of them were crying that they still would like to swim! There was even one who haven't eaten yet, but prefer to just swim than eat.
Children really loves to swim and be in the water even if they were there for a long time!

That is so true! my son is only 2 and he loves swimming in the pool. He looks forward to it and has been going swimming nearly everyday for the past two weeks! We do live in Florida so the weather is perfect pool weather. And I am really trying to teach him how to swim and get used to the water. He never wants to leave the pool and throws a fit every time! It's really adorable how excited they get to go swimming at this age!

Could it be that kids are like that when it comes to swimming, because they are used to it when they were inside our tummies?

I also like quinngog My child likes swimming very much and i think every children like it. It is necessary to learn swimming on deep water, so that your child wouldn't get used to pull down his legs and stand up on the bottom. While not observing this rule, a child's period of transfer from shallow water to depth is being delayed: he can already hold on the water and dive, but still is afraid to swim in depth. However, avoid any extreme: don't throw a child that cannot swim into the water. You can throw one and he'll get out, and another will start sinking and after you take him out, he'll never go into the water again. But even the one who gets out receives shock, a trauma. Your child doesn't need this. So, let's learn swimming in depth, but holding a pool's side, berth or father's hand in the beginning.

Children should be made to swim freely only on kiddie pools. That way, they will not get drowned because the water is just shallow for them to be able to get up.

Hi. SIMPLYD. I can see why children love swimming so much. The water is so cool and crisp. They love to see the water splash. It is just magical to them. My kids love to play in the water too. So, I know that they would have loved to have stayed into the pool too.

My daughter was like that too when she was still a kid. We would go to a resort and swim from morning until before lunch. Usually, we don't like to go swimming after lunch because of the heat. But our daughter would go back and swim until late in the afternoon.
By the time we go home, she's already dark skinned!

Oh is that so Professor? Aren't there any private resort where there are swimming pools as one of their amenities? Subhee should experience swimming too. I bet, when she experience it, she would always ask that you take her swimming.
Here in the Philippines, companies gives their employees a yearly chance for summer outing, where they can swim and enjoy. The company gives us a budget for it. We will have ours on the last Sunday of May. We just can't settle for which resort to hold it, because we are 90 persons in all. Everyone is excited already and it's gonna be overnight.
But for families, we go on our own summer outings too at those resorts and beaches.

Oh they do! My son loved to swim and I share the same passion for swimming.
I think we both are a mermaid and merman in our past lives.
When I was young, I always get excited whenever I see the blue sea.
I ran to the beach the moment my feet steps on the sand.
I love it when I hear the waves smashing on the shore and when the bubbles they produced touched my feet. I remember I also didn't have time to eat then.
My fascination towards swimming didn't fade over the years.
I actually learned swimming all by myself.
I like it more now though when I had experienced snorkeling.
It feels great to see the fishes dancing in the sea.
I see myself in my son now. On our last vacation to Davao, he hardly went off the water. In fact he was in his trunks and his color on his butt was a lot lighter than the rest of his body. Actually you can see the lining of his trunks in his body.

Adults tend to get "tired" from swimming a lot earlier than kids. Plus the sun's scorching heat would be another deterrent to adults, which the kids are not bothered at all.
Don't your son beg for a few more "minutes" , when you ask him to pull out?

Sometimes i wish that i can be a children again. Children and simple and they can have so much fun just by being in the water. We as adults, will never get to have that much fun again. Because we are always conscious of ourselves, we never allow ourself to have so much fun in the pool.
It's great to see children having fun. When you see the smiles on their faces, you'll be happy too! I believe when we were a child, we would rather forego our dinner too!

Oh that's true. Children have no qualms of how they look when they go swimming. But adults, they tend to get conscious of their looks that they would like to do it when the sun has set already. I am guilty of that!

The love of swimming is not just confined to kids. Their young bodies allow them to have the extra stamina so that they may feel cold but they don't want to get out of the water. My daughter was still swimming even when it was almost midnight last week even if she has a different lip color(pale. I was not feeling well hence I opted to sleep and woke up without her by my side. I look outside and lo and behold she is happily swimming with a playmate. The next day as soon as the sun started to shine she was up on her feet for another swimming episode.

However, as parents we should make sure though that they don't get pneumonia from being soaked in the water for a long time.

If you are talking about those inflatable ones, we bought one too for our parents house. They would inflate them in the front lawn, and my daughter and her cousins would swim on them to their hearts delight. It's so heart warming seeing them laugh and have fun!

Yeah, kids really love swimming like my son. We have a kiddie pool at home and before swimming we'll talk first that he'll swim for an hour in the morning and another 1 hour in the afternoon. The time is always stretch up to 2 hours. He really enjoy and love swimming so much!

Even if they do it alone, they do enjoy the water so much, unmindful of the sun. They would come out of it with sunburn and complain of it later. But would like to swim again and again!

Hi... Agree on that, children really enjoy swimming, playing and other recreational activities.. This is one of the reason they called them children.. They are just enjoying their life, they don't mind if they skip eating foods as long as they are happy, that will satisfy their needs... Also children really enjoy the things that they seldom do, like swimming, not all day they swim into the pool. They are just enjoying the experience they have. Children can appreciate little things and happenings... Even me, when i was a kid i prefer to play that to eat my food, but after playing, it is the time to eat, eat a lot after playing.. Hahaha For children, the life is only about playing and enjoying life... They have no problems in mind..

I think, it's the refreshing effect of the water that makes them addicted to swimming.

Most children are daredevils. They hace curious and strong-willed minds that they tend to try things they have not tried. Once they learned that such thing is fun, then they do it again and again because they find enjoyment with such. Sometimes, adults need to be strong-willed and adventurous like the children.

Children likes to repeat and repeat an activity they really find so enjoyable. Swimming is one activity that tops over the rest. They would just go out of the water, once the water becomes cold, as the evening deepens. Their lips sometimes turn white from being soaked in water for so long.

Thanks for finding me gorgeous!
I think all children loves swimming. When they touch the water, it as if they don't want to go out of it anymore. Maybe that's because they are not mindful of what it will do to their skin. All they have in mind is to be refreshed by the water.
But when they become teenagers , they would choose swimming only when the sun has already set. Which , i do too.
