Update about 'an ugly tree'

I started a post the other day about this sad looking apple tree in my yard, that my husband will not get rid of. Here is the news: We were running cement yesterday for a garage floor....and, oops the cement truck driver drove into this ugly tree with his front bumper and snapped it in half. I saw it all taking place. I let out this evil laugh and had to call my sister about this tragic news.

This lesson should teach you to be very careful what you ask for. Next time it may come true in a more destructive manner. If the rest of this tree is not removed suckers will sprout from the roots and you will have a bush instead of a tree.

Poor tree and seems that you no longer have to see it all lonely in its spot again. How did your husband react to the accident tree chopping?

I was laughing, because he walked over to it and it was broken in half. A perfect 90 degree angle. He reached down and pulled it upright again. It will not live-I hope the bottom part will not start sprouting suckers.

Haha! I was one of those who responded to the other discussion. And I was one of those who suggested that you keep the tree. It's just funny that something like this should happen to a tree you didn't want. And I bet you could have stopped the truck too.

If only apple trees survived here, I would have asked for that tree and replanted it in our backyard. I haven't even seen an actual apple tree in my life!

Dried apple and other fruit wood is good used on a grill or smoker.

LOL. You got to be kidding me! I'm glad that it happened for your sake though. The poor tree needed to be taken out if it was indeed that ugly.

That is so sad! I liked that tree! It reminded me of the tree in the Charlie Brown Christmas special! It was a pitiful tree but with the help of Charlie Brown's friends it became an awesome tree! That is what I thought of when i saw your little tree!

WEll, at least that turned out good for you! It's kind of funny.. but now if you made a big deal about the tree you should feel badly! However, if you just suffered in silence then you can silently enjoy that fact that the tree was destroyed!
