Why do people enjoy horror films? Or roller coasters? I do everything Not to be afraid. And I hate the way roller coasters make me feel, which is sick to my stomach. But this is the season there are ads for horror films so there Has to be many who are the complete opposite of me. Can you explain Why you like either horror films or roller coasters.

Same here Sarah! When I go and watch a movie, I want to feel relaxed. I would like to make my mind work a bit, but certainly not to scare the wits out of me. So I stay away from horror movies. Although I am not against roller coasters, I certainly try and avoid them as well. For the life of me, I could not remember where I should place my head during the many turns. So I always end up with a headache or a stiff neck as soon as I get off. The last one I rode was 'The Mummy' at Universal Studios. Not really a roller coaster, but same effect.

I'm not fond at all of horror films, but I do love roller coasters. They scare me a little too though.

A rollercoaster is action, so for those unto action, it makes sense. I'm not into that kind of action, though. Horror movies don't make sense to me, because a person just passively sits there. I dOnt understand sports for the same reason. Watching hockey all day would be hell fir me, heaven for someone else. Different strokes for different folks.

I watch horror movies because of the blood rush it gives me whenever I feel scared while watching. It's the same for rollercoaster rides. It's exciting to ride one that's why a lot of people do it over and over again. It's only scary at first but once you're on it, the excitement begins.

Well I would say I have a split on this one. I love horror films, especially the psychological ones. As for roller coasters, I used to enjoy them as a kid, but now I get sick to my stomach on them. I avoid roller coasters at all costs. Horror films are awesome. I do not look at them as being afraid, I look at them as they are only movies and thats it. As a matter of fact, I find most of them funny. Lets face it, in all horror movies, the people are not very smart. If they were, there would be no movie. I used to tell my son, don't be afraid of them, imagine a horror movie with bugs bunny music and you would laugh.

The only two horror films I saw and wasn't afraid nor did I have nightmares afterward were Interview With a Vampire and Silence of the Lambs.

I am with you on this one. I do not enjoy the horror movies, I sort of feel the pain involved, even if it is only fiction it hurts me to imagine it. I do not like roller coasters because I do not like to be out of control. Some people are addicted to the adrenaline caused by these movies and rides and it actually makes them feel good. For me, I had just as soon have a good cup of coffee.

I don't drink coffee. If I have too much caffeine, I get jittery.I get a rush seeing a good hockey game.

I don't like either of them.....why do that to myself? I have a fear of falling so that really puts the topper on a roller coaster...and horror movies...well I would rather invest my time in something entertaining.

I don't do stuff to be afraid either, but neither of these things scare me. They are just exciting. If I am afraid of a roller coaster at first, I like to go on them to overcome that fear, but once I go on it, it isn't really frightening anymore.

I'm not sure about horror films. I am not crazy about the blood and gore ones, but I do enjoy the creepy ones. Maybe it is my curiousity about the unknown or my amazement with what people come up with in their mind. I think there are people that like the rush they get from being scared. I am not really one of those people..lol. As far as roller coasters...I used to really like them. I loved the speed. At that time, I was young and danger wasn't something I worried about, but now that i am older...I'm not so crazy about them.

i don't like the speed married with the up and down and loops. I wouldn't mind being up high. I wouldn't mind going fast on the ground. But No roller coasters thanks.

Whichever corner of the world I have been there have been roller coasters in amusement parks and the very sight of those up there screaming with fright was enough to send shivers down my spine. And some of them going for a second ride is something I have never understood. It is something like some get aroused when they are bruised and beaten. This is not my kind of fun. When I was in Australia the group I was travelling by coerced me into taking part in what looked like something meant for kids. Little did I know what was in store while the kids behind me were screaming 'scooby doo where are you' and having a time of their life and here I was counting moments to get off whatever that was!

I love a good horror movie...one with a story, not just blood and gore. I guess I like thrillers best. As for roller coasters and those types of rides...I love them, too, but I can't ride them anymore. The biggest thrill of my summers uded to be going to amusement parks and enjoying the thrill rides.

I don't like horror films because they usually have the same plot - a monster, psycho, or ghost who scares people and kills them. After a while it gets boring, but some people never cease to be amazed. I guess it's the skill of creating such a thrill that is interesting. And maybe since people don't usually experience that type of scare in reality, they enjoy seeing it on screen. I do love roller coasters because it gives me a sense of flying. I don't get very scared because I have been going on them since I was young. Maybe if I never went on one when I was little, I would be scared to go on a roller coaster. But I got over the fear at an early age.

To this day , if I were to see a horror film, I wouldn't sleep well for a week. As for roller coasters, I didn't ride one until I was 16? And I hated the feeling . I was almost sick to my stomach. Oh well.

I am the one who like watching horror films and trying the roller coasters:) Actually I am not very afraid of most horror movies. I just like to challenge myself when I watch it alone. After all, it is a movie and I shall not be serious to it. It is really exciting to try to roller roasters. I'd better try it more before I grow old. I remember last time when my husband and I went to the amusement park, I almost vomited after tried these exciting things. I love China

I don't like either! Horror films give me have nightmares! Roller coasters scare me! I don't like the twisting, the turning or the speed! The first time I ever rode a roller coaster they never told me to take my glasses off! They flew off! They were found later but only half of them! I only rode a roller coaster once since! The second one was nothing like the first but I only did it because I was talked into it! I don't understand why people love horror movies! I think one reason people love roller coaster because of the thrill!

I think it is the thrill and fear factor that gives horror films their appeal. yhe same can be said for a roller coaster. Something out of control seems to fascinate us more than anything else. Thinking we can control something out of control gives power to places that it wouldn't otherwise,

And I have resigned to the fact I Never had any control on Anything save myself since I was 7. My no is All the control I will ever have. So I never got excited about losing control, I guess. what I find thrilling is music and a damn good hockey game and my guy , But not in that order, lol!
