Poor Penny RIP

I was very upset last week, we had to put our dog down. It was quite upsetting really but I was expecting it, as she was 15 years old. We buried her in the garden. Some people have said since that this is the wrong thing to do? Others have said it was creepy? I don't think it is, we wanted to bring her home. What do you think?

Awww I am very sorry for the loss of your family pet. I lost my buddy a small chihuahua who turned 13 on Thanksgiving 3 years ago and passed on his birthday. He had to have a surgery and did not make it. So I brought him home and buried him. My mother buried both her dogs in her yard when they passed. My 2 neighbors buried both their dogs in the past couple years in their yards. I would think it would be colder to just throw em in a dumpster! Whatever you feel comfortable with is what you should do. I actually still put a silk flower bouquet where buddy is buried. Huggs and maybe you will get another pet? I had to get a cat instead of another dog. they are much easier to care for.

Thanks Marie, I'm thinking of planting something to mark her grave. I'm glad that other people have same point of view then. I think the people that said it was creepy, just never had a dog or pet so probably didn't know what they were saying and probably didn't think it would play on my mind. Like you say we couldn't just throw her away in the bin, though I'm sure some do. No, not getting another pet for a while. Might get another dog in a couple of years, when life has settled down a bit.

I'm really sorry to hear about your dog. Personally, I don't feel that it's weird or creepy to bury your dog in your garden. I don't see anything wrong with it, to be honest. It's really a personal choice. If that's where you want to bury your dog, then that's where you should bury her.
