Well it's official Ashton Kutcher former star of that 70's show and host of Punk'd will replace Charlie Sheen on 2 1/2 men, but he will not take over the role of Charlie Harper. How he'll be introduced or what character he'll be playing is unknown at this time, but all of the other costars will return in their former roles. I really don't know how well the show will do with Ashton, although i do think he's funny and will fit in well with his costars and i read he's absolutely thrilled to be part of the cast. So, what do you think? was this a good move and do you think the show will regain it's former popularity without good old Charlie.IMO, i feel fans of 2 1/2 men should at least give it a chance, who knows, Mr.Kutcher could be a very welcome addition.

Hmmm got to think about that one for a second. lol. Wonder who he will come back as? Intriguing, although wonder how his character will come about? A long unknown brother maybe? I certainly love it the old way but so willing to see how it all unravels.

I was also wondering whether or not they might bring him in as a brother that they never knew they had, HWG. I like it the way it was, too, but I am definitely willing to give it a try with the new cast, although I am not entirely sure that it will have the same appeal without Charlie.

Yeah that is exactly how I feel too, that somehow without Charlie it somehow just will not be the same. See in my mind the brother was funny but only because Charlie made fun of him. Definitely will be tuning in but as many shows go, sometimes a rapid abrupt change kills the shows zest.

Yeah, I think that the show pretty much revolved around Charlie. It is going to be a major and drastic change to not have him in it, and it will affect almost all the characters, especially since his house is the focal point of the show. I do hope that they keep Berta on, because I really like her character, but I am not sure how she will fit in if Charlie is gone.

I like Ashton Kutcher, and this lets the rest of the cast finish playing out their characters. It will be more or less a spin off I guess. Never hurts to try.

I wouldn't say that it would be a spin-off, but it might drastically change the dynamics of the show. It can be done, however. I used to watch "Spin City", and I loved Michael J. Fox on it. I thought that he really made the show. When he left, Charlie Sheen came on as his "replacement". I didn't like him quite as well as I did Michael J. Fox, but I think that he did quite well anyway.

I saw the mom's character in a few talk shows and she was quite worried her career would be over, so maybe this will her chance to continue working. It will be fun to see all the changes. Hi GG.

I know, it is not exactly a spin off, but I am not sure what it should be called. I am relieved that this is helping some of the other actors continue in their roles.

I don't watch tv. Not unless something special is on and I happen to be at work were there are tv's on in the common rooms or resident rooms. I particularly didn't like 2 1/2 men when it was on and I could view it. The character Charlie was a pig.

Poor Charlie, pray for him. He' trying to get clean as far as I've heard. It's a long process. I hope he can do it.

Absolutely, I may not agree with his lifestyle and his recent behavior was really out there, but,he does have major issues and if he's really trying to deal with them i wish him well. One of the problems Charlie had was that he refused to believe he had any.it's high time he realized you can't go around biting the hands that fed you for so long and expect a good outcome.Maybe realizing that he wasn't irreplaceable was the wake up call he needed.

Wasn't a fan myself but my husband is and is actually happy the show will go on even though Charlie was replaced with Ashton Kutcher. I wouldn't go as far as saying the Charlie character was a "pig", but i will say his morals and behavior left something to be desired.Hmm,much like the guy who played him, wouldn't you say?

I am definitely going to watch it and give it a try, but I am not sure that the show will be the same without Charlie. I mean, he really didn't have to be that great of an actor, although I do think that he is a good actor, for him to play the role of Charlie Harper as it was pretty much a mirror of his real life. Still, he pretty much was the star of the show. I do hope that Ashton will be able to take over and keep the show going, but he will have to really prove himself in order to do it, in my opinion.

I have to say i did watch the show a few times and that was only because my husband was a huge fan and though he liked Charlie Sheen he said as good as he was,as time went on he saw a decline in his performances,he wasn't as sharp as he used to be and had a tired worn out look which is not surprising considering his lifestyle. So, i feel even if the producers gave him another chance, which they would have been crazy if they did, considering his current mental state and wild behavior, it would just be a matter of time until he was fired again or worse not be able to perform at all. That's why for good or bad, at least the show stays on the air and if they do refer to Ashton as a relative of Charlie Harper and just not forget him completely, people just may get used to and enjoy the show again.

I thought Ashton was going to be playing Charlie, a little weird because of the age difference, but if he's not, then I don't understand why it's a big deal. I love Ashton Kutcher and think he's hilarious, so I will probably watch the show because he's on there. But, I think Charlie Sheen made that show and without him, it's just not going to be the same.

WELCOME TO MYLOT!!! You almost need a scorecard for Two & a Half Men right now!!! Ashton Kutcher is replacing the actor Charlie Sheen...NOT the character Charlie Harper!!! Even Ashton is smart enough to say...I can nott replace Charlie Sheen; but I will do my BEST to be entertaining to the fans of the show. What more can we ask???

Yes, jleigh welcome to Mylot and Lady Marissa is correct Ashton will join the cast of the show but not as Charlie Harper. There would be no way for the producers to pull that off. I also feel fans of the show should give Ashton a chance, he is funny and i think is a good fit for the rest of the castmates.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! As far as the show goes, I will watch it, but will miss the dynamic between Alan and Charlie. I love to laugh and there's no way the "new" show won't be funny.

I personally feel that they should have picked someone else besides Ashton Kutcher. I mean Ashton Kutcher is funny and makes people laugh. He did that a whole lot on That 70s Show and so many of his other movies along with Punk'd. I've seen Two and a Half Men before and I think Charlie played the part well. But, personally, I wanna meet Charlie Sheen because of how dynamic this man is in real life.

Thinking back to "That 70's Show" not only was Ashton funny, but he was GREAT at playing a lovable, arrogant ladies man!!! That's ALL Charlie did!!! I've loved Charlie Sheen for nearly 25 years, but he's become really UNFUNNY to me now. He bragged about his goddesses. I don't know many women who wouldn't say what he wanted to hear for $30 grand a night!!! I forgave him for being stupid with Warner Bros & Chuck Lorre, but when he attacked the fans who gave him the $2 million per episode, he lost my loyalty!!! He's NOT smart enough to earn $26 million a year for being himself...yep, he was NOT acting!!! He was NOT smart enough to refrain from insulting the people who loved him most...yep, his fans. I'm beginning to think he's NOT the man I thought he was!!!!

I can understand AngelHope's feelings... I used to have fantasies about mine & Charlie's life together as I also found him dynamic & extremely exciting...that is, until he began to self implode!!! Think about it...he's paying a woman $30 thousand a night to be loyal to him & she chose to leave because he was waaay too far out there!!! I loved him for FREE & he chose to insult me & my intelligence. I simply REFUSE to be abused by him any more!!! I just think we should NOT expect Ashton to be Charlie & GIVE HIM A CHANCE!!!! If it doesn't work, it doesn't work & we can choose to watch something else!!! If it does work...we're out of NOTHING & may possibly receive MANY MORE hours of good entertainment!!!!

AngelHope stated "I wanna meet Charlie Sheen because of how dynamic the man "is" in real life" I can only take that statement as a present tense statement, in other words she would like to meet him just the way he is now. That is why i couldn't wrap my mind around why she could still find him dynamic and mentioned all the reasons why there's nothing dynamic about him. You yourself mentioned how much you liked and admired him UNTIL he began to implode and i can well understand people admiring him before he self destructed. IMO,there's nothing to admire him about today,he's become an egotistical, unappreciative off the wall man who could care less about those who made him who he was.The Charlie that you and many others once held in high esteem, is no longer that person. Also you are correct, no one should expect Ashton to play Charlie's former role, in fact no one ever could, seeing that the Charlie in real life was a mirror image of Charlie Harper.but i also feel Ashton should be given a chance and as you mentioned what does anyone have to lose. i'm rooting for Ashton and believe he'll do just fine.

I never liked Charlie Sheen. I have only watched two and a half men in reruns when eating on the weekends and nothing else was on. He pretty much played a milder version of his real life self. I thought the other cast members and the guest stars were what made the show and just don't understand why he was payed so much for doing it. In truth my main enjoyment from the the show came from the beautiful guest actresses that they would have.

I'm not a big fan of him myself. My husband liked the show and so i did watch a few episodes. Many people claim how good he was on the show, but, as you mentioned how hard is it to basically play yourself? The only reason i'm glad the show will continue is that the cast will be able to keep their jobs, since they played no part in Charlie's antics and are all very talented on their own. Who knows i might even catch a few episodes now that Charlie's gone and Ashton Kutcher will be part of the cast, i'd like to see how well he does, since he's a pretty funny guy as well.

i think we will have to wait and see how the show will be from now on. i think Charlie made the show and he was very funny. i liked the other characters, too. it may go well or it may not. we will have to see for ourselves. the ratings will tell us what will be.

I agree we'll we'll only know how it will be when the show airs. i'm pretty sure the first show will attract a lot of viewers,if for no other reason than curiosity to see how well Ashton fits in and just what role he'll be playing. Although i agree Charlie was the main character on the show and the reason so many viewers tuned in,he was the one responsible for his own undoing, so there was no way the producers could bring him back especially after his tirades against them.

hi jujunme I have never watched this before as I have got so sick of listening to Charlie Sheen and his ravings that I really did not care but with a new person on it maybe its worth watching. When I was a captive TV audience for twenty days in rehab hospital just about half the Tv time was taken up with all the details of bad boy Charlie Sheen, why should the show not go on withougt so called good old Charlie? to me he was and is an arrogant as.s. I am sure this Mr.Kutcher can be even better than the Arrogant obnoxious Charlie Sheen.

Hi Friend As i mentioned before, i also wasn't a big fan of the show and only watched it now and then. i just couldn't understand the appeal Charlie Sheen held, since, they really overdid the drunk womanizer routine. Afterwards what really turned me off, was his erratic and arrogant behavior and his total disrespect for the producers of 2 1/2 men who gave him every chance to straighten himself out, not to mention the pretty penny they paid him on the show.He actually believed he was irreplaceable, but he found out very soon that he wasn't and that really no one is.

I'm glad they're not canceling it and giving it a shot for the sake of the other actors. I personally never cared for Charlie Sheen as a comedian. I also never cared for the character of Charlie Harper. I still don't understand what made him so hot on the show. I always thought the other characters is what carried the show. To me the characters of Allen, Berta, Jake and Rose is what made the show. Without them I don't think the show would have made it. Charlie Sheen just isn't funny. He's a wonderful dramatic actor but not a comedian. Now on the other side of the coin, I don't know why they couldn't have just left Charlie Sheen alone. From what little I've picked up over the years, no matter how messed up he was, he always showed up for work and did his job. Meddling in his personal business obviously didn't help him any. He's still out of control. Also, the only reason I ever watched the show was for the other characters. They're a show in its self. I think if they work it right they'll have another hit. I just don't know how they would go about it.

I guess most fans of the show will miss Charlie but, i have to say, your being a big Ashton fan should ease the blow a bit and you never know, it just might work out for the best. Just think, the show could have been cancelled altogether, by the producers bringing it back IMO,there must have been a huge fan backlash asking that they not cancel the show even if Charlie wasn't part of it.

Hi jujunme: I think it was a wise decision for Ashton not trying to replace Mr. Sheen because it's obvious that comparisons will come. He just have to be himself on the show because he is a funny guy. If he is original he'll fit well on the show. However these changes on a tv show are always traumatic. I hope he'll do it well. It is hard to get used to someone new but i feel he should be given a chance.it just might work out for the best.

Ashton's hilarious and I think any guy who got to handle Saturday Night Live well could fill the spot that Charlie Sheen left. It also doesn't hurt that Ashton's a looker as well and that was pretty much Charlie Sheen's contribution to the show because honestly, I think Jon Crier's the funny one everyone just kept on zoning in on the 'winner.'

I did see Ashton on SNL and agree he did hold is own and i agree his looks won't hurt him either. What people need to understand is there was no way Charlie could have returned considering his state of mind.and i do think the reason people "zoned" in on him so much is due to his outrageous behavior and not so funny antics.John Cryer is a funny guy and i think he and Ashton will will work well together.

Frankly I think the show is over, without Charlie Sheen it will not work, they should just start another show with a new name maybe that would work. Anyway I do think 2-1/2 men was losing it, the newer episodes weren't quite as funny, Jake was no longer good for too many laughs, I guess he is too old for the part now, and they were replaying the same type of jokes like "that ship has sailed" etc.

Well, only time will tell if the show will continue since people are so used to Charlie Sheen in the role and bringing in someone new is never an easy transition. I do agree with you about Jake.Growing up he did lose a lot of the appeal he once held as a child and became more annoying than funny. I really don't know what role Ashton will play but for those who didn't want to see the show cancelled,it may still attract a large audience, who knows?

You might like Ashton Kutcher better than Charlie Sheen when you compare two actors or even two people, but do you watch the show "2 1/2 Men"? Do you not like Charlie Sheen on it and think that Ashton will bring more to the show than Charlie does? The shows dynamics will have to change drastically, in my opinion anyway, with this sort of change, which might negatively affect the popularity of the show.
