Brothers and Sisters has been canceled by ABC

Ok now I'm totally upset. First they announce they are canceling All My Children and now they are also getting rid of my all time favorite show, Brothers and Sisters. I will not be watching ABC any longer. Especially now that Oprah will also be leaving ABC. I feel so sorry for ABC because they are going to lose alot of viewers and alot of money. I wish I knew who was in charge of programming because they are making alot of people angry. How about you are they getting rid of any of your favorite shows?

Good orning Lelin, sorry about your shows. I didn't watch either one of them & as far as i know none of my faves have been canceled but i'd probably be the last to know, lol. Hope things are well w/u otherwise.

Wow, really???? I had no clue they were cancelling it. Like you, Brothers and Sisters is one of my favorite shows. How did you hear they were cancelling it? I normally don't get to watch it at the exact time it comes on but I DVR it and watch it later. That really stinks they are getting rid of so many good shows for the sake of adding more reality shows. For the most part I hate reality shows. I think the only show I like that some consider a reality show is Dancing with the Stars and thats only because I love dancing. But all the other ones they could get rid of and I would be happy.
When is the last episode of Brothers and Sisters?

Okay I see. But that's weird how it was labeled as a "season finale" and not "Series finale". Normally when they are cancelling a show they will say the very last show is the "Series finale". Huh????? Very interesting! Thanks for the letting me know.

I saw a list online of the shows being canceled. Brothers and Sisters season finale happened last Sunday so that was it for us. No more Brothers and Sisters I am so upset about this. I loved that show. It was the best in my opinion. Well written and great cast.

Oprah's talk show is going off the air as of May 25th. She has her own network which is OWN on channel 166 in my area. I don't have a problem with that I have a problem when they cancel a good show just to put on reality garbage or bringing a show on like a remake of Charlies Angels. What happen to the inmagination of writers? They keep bring back remakes instead of keeping a good show like Brothers and Sisters on the air. Thank you for your response and have a great Sunday!

Hi, sorry I'm behind, but that is becoming a way of life.
I hate most programs on TV. I don't get "into" many due to what you are talking about. You just into a program and boom! it's gone for some trivial cast off program........
Sorry sweetie, but TV land just isn't our place to be...

Seems like just more of their ways to try and improve their ratings by bringing in more reality type shows and or talk shows. With Oprah leaving their will be many competition to be in her shoes and sadly they are canceling quite a few soap operas on other channels as well.
Oprah and with Katie Couric also leaving local stations going towards the cable channels it seems they feel they have to continue with reality and competition type shows. Sadly that some as yourself who enjoyed Brothers and Sisters are not being counted in their ratings and although it will perhaps be a step in the wrong direction for them because there are many like me who feel the reality type area is the pits.
We at home have been streaming a lot online because the local stations here are definitely not worth watching these days.

What I don't understand is how they haven't gotten the message that the majority of people do not like reality based shows. They just don't seem to be tuned into what the consumers want. Thanks for your response!

No reason was given it was just listed with other shows that are being canceled such as "No Ordinary Family," "Off the Map," "Mr. Sunshine," and "Better With You."
