for sure, there will be major changes next year. one is that coach jackson won't be around to lead and guide the team. second, the twin centers in bynum and gasol may be dissolved. but i won't be worried as long as kobe bryant is still there. the face and force behind the lakers is kobe. the lakers will again be a force to reckon with and a regular playoff team in the west.

I agree, but I think that they need to try and get Dwight Howard to their lineup.

They need to get younger. As much as I love Derek Fisher, they definitely need a new point guard. Derek ain't the Derek of old anymore, the lock down defender we used to know, the guy who knocked down big shots when it mattered most. He's just a different player now. The biggest hole in the Lakers system is not on offense but on defense. They need to be committed on defense. Management signed Mike Brown because they want to implement defense on the system. Ron Artest needs to traded. He's lost his step already. He's the only guy who still thinks that he can be good on the court. He's becoming more of a liability than an asset on the floor. Bynum and Gasol needs to co-exist. They need shooters to spread the floor. When they traded away Vujacic for Smith, they also traded away the only shooter they got left on their roster. More importantly, they need to deal Luke Walton, I don't know how they're gonna do that but they need to cut the guy. He has a lucrative contract and the only thing he's good at to keep the bench warm. I don't care if he has high basketball IQ, he's the soul of the team, because they ain't kidding anyone, he ain't that good.

They need to get younger and athletic especially in the point guard position as it has been a major liability for them for more than one occassion (Guys like Westbrook, Brooks, Williams, Paul & Rondo) have been killing the aging Fisher in all aspect except ofcourse veteran leadership, but there's alot of that already with Kobe, Gasol, Lamar and even Artest. They need to address the pecking order with Bynum and Gasol otherwise they need to split them apart. They should make a lot of moves, not a major overhaul, but moves that will put them back in the race next year.
