The finale of Smallville was very good for the most part with a lot happening. Clark finally flew and he defeated Darkside. I was unhappy that they killed Tess off even if she went heroically by taking all the memories from the New Lex so he could become a better man. I wish they could have brought Lana back in some way to help Clark somehow but I guess it was not meant to be. For the most part it was a happy ending, though.

I disagree that Tess deleted Lex's memories to try and make him a "better man". She just heroically erased all his knowledge to make life easier for Clark (and humanity ultimately).
I was amazed how much Lex's speech to Clark sounded like the villian's speech from near the end of the movie Unbreakable. One of those times when a "comics" character benefitted from the insight of an outside source that was commenting on the "comics" character.

I liked the finale as well, even though Tess had to die by Lex's hands. It was really powerful and you got to see the progression that Clark made throughout the series, whether an avid fan was there from the beginning and every single episode to a person that just caught a few episodes here and there and finally got to see it end.
The ending was really good, especially when Jor-el and Jonathan came together in order for Clark to learn that he needs both parts of his past, along with his present and future to become a true hero. I hate that Lana didn't get to share this episode, but liked her glimpses in the flashbacks.
Hopefully, this won't be the last from DC Comics as far as episode series goes, besides Young Justice (which I think is really good cartoon series btw). I would like to see Flash, Cyborg or even Supergirl out of all this, and maybe they can bring back Birds of Prey and revamp the series a bit, even if it was a bit dark for others' taste.
As far as the cast goes, I really hope that Tom Welling is highly considering doing the Justice League movie for DC, along with Michael Rosenbaum becoming Lex Luthor, or revamping Superman (or any other drama flick), seeing that their chemistry on camera throughout the series was really electrifying to watch.

This series really sucks. I mean the first 3 or 4 seasons were great but as the show moves on, the whole thing became a blow out. I think, mostly it's because of Lana's character. She was supposed to be Clark's love interest when they were in highschool and that's it. I didn't see the point why the writers had to make her a superhuman too. The plot became so ridiculous I just watched the show because of Kristin Kreuk's cute face. Another very unexpected thing is Chloe Sullivan. She also had a superhuman ability. I guess writers thought of it as a scapegoat for supposed revelations of Clark's powers, as I remember in some episodes, but writers should have thought of a much more mature way of presenting it besides giving support characters powers, that's just dumb. In my opinion, they should have hired better writers. Although I don't blame Smallville's production because, from what I can remember, there was a writers' demand during Smallville's 5th season shoot (I think). Maybe they didn't wanna let go of their writers, I'm not so sure about this. All I know is Smallville sucks big time.
