I really do enjoy Agatha Christie's novels. I haven't read all of them, but those that I have read were really enjoyable. She's definitely one of my favorite authors, if not my favorite. Although I haven't read many, I have enjoyed the Sherlock Holmes stories. They were actually quite cleverly written, and enjoyable to read.

sherlock holmes by sir arthur conan doyle. it's a deductive reasoning classic. guess you've heard of him already.
when i was younger, i get to read the hardy boys as well.
i've seen some agatha christie books before, but i never get to read them. it didn't interest me then. but now that you mentioned it, i'll get 'em when i see 'em. i never knew they were detective novels.
and if you know the cartoon detective conan, i watch that too. =)

I also like Agatha Christie, and I like modern "cosy" mysteries as well. There are so many different ones now, it seems there is a detective for every job or hobby. For example, ones I have read recently are a detective knitter / accountant/ coffee shop owner / hairdresser / PR executive / cross-stitcher.
