Love is life. Is there anything greater than love? No, there is nothing greater than love in this world. Receiving love means receiving the world. The world is thirsty of love from others. The more you love, the more detached you will be. The sign of real and pure love is a deep love with great detachment.

Pure love is selfless, unconditional love. Like mother's love for her child, her bundle of joy. Love by itself is a pure emotion. It is only when negative intention, perception, expectation gets attached to love, that it gets adulterated. When we are able to broaden our horizon, are able to identify with the rest of humanity, develop a positive attitude to life and become full of compassion and empathy for fellow beings, then our capacity to love selflessly and deeply gets enhanced. Mother Teresa and Mahatma Gandhi are noble souls who showed their true love, compassion and devotion for humanity by working tirelessly and selflessly for poor, sick and downtrodden in India and elsewhere.

Pure love is the dee[ effection we have for someone else. With no conditions or restrictions, we give and accept this kind of love and it is one that can endure forever.

I think the way a mother love her kids is pure love.
But in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship there're too many other things attached.
