There are some products you can buy (pills) that you give your dog and (get this), they are suppose to make the poop TASTE BAD....lol. Here's something you can buy from PetSmart (it didn't work for us, but it has worked for other people). http://www.petsmart.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=stool%20no&origkw=Stool%20No&sr=1 Good luck!

Our dogs eat their poops too. We asked the vet and he said it's because of the food they eat. And the food is even more delicious when made to a poop so they can't resist but to eat it. I wonder if the vet already tasted it. To stop them from that, the vet prescribed some vitamins for them so that their poop won't taste delicious anymore. It worked for our dogs but the vitamins are too pricey. They still eat some though.

I read somewhere that sometimes a dog will do this because they are missing something in their diet. Are you feeding him a good brand of pet food? You said he only does it now and again. And yes, I've seen those products as well. I haven't tried them but I would.

Have you tried hitting your dog? Where does this happen? Why do you think your dog is doing this? How FRESH is the poop? Maybe its just a phase, though if he starts eating the poop just hit him/her and say NO! really loud so she/he will know that it is a bad thing to do.
