Before the internet, ways to communicate with friends, relatives, and business colleagues, were telephone and faxing. Depending on the destinations, some times it works well, and some times it doesn't. Can be very frustrating at times. Internet changed the world so much !

Before the era of internet, people communicated with one another over telephone or by writing letters or by visiting one another at their houses. Paying of bills and checking of banking were done by physical visits of the places concerned.

When i remember how i learned with one rare book on 7 people in college, without the MS. Word, without internet, writing anything on paper((( I want to yell. When i see how my sister easily learns something that took us writing lectures, copying them in xeroxes... when now you just can ask your friend scan the lectures and sent or just find the info in internet, lol. I can't believe we were unlucky enough not have internet and good computers in school and college. I don't even say about the autoimmunity to talk with pretty much everyone sitting in your home. The new kids are lucky, really lucky. I guess they will learn more.

I always watch music videos during that time. Either watching the top ten music videos or listening to the radio for the top and most requested songs as well. I read books and do some boring stuffs that I don't consider boring during that time.

Before the internet, when there are occassions like birthday, Christmas, New Year, i would always send cards via snail mail to my loved ones abroad. Now that there's already an internet, it's easier, faster and cheaper to send cards. I would just greet them via facebook, email or send an ecard to them :)

I actually remember life before the internet. I remember having to learn how to send an email and how to logon to a URL. When I first went abroad, it was in 1995 and I didn't know anyone at that time who had internet at home. I kept in touch with people through letters, and a weekly phone call to my parents. The last time I went abroad was in 2005, and it was so different, I could talk on skype every day for hours, access my UK bank account from abroad, watch English TV online. It's hard to believe that so much could change in just ten years.

Before I started using the internet, admittedly I read a lot more than I do now. Quite a lot more, dare I say. I'd say people probably wrote letters to others or just called them on the phone if they weren't close enough to talk to in person.
