Hey guys! What did you think of the season finale? Do you think Lynette and Tom's marriage will stay together? I think Lynette is too bossy and mean to Tom. Although he really is getting annoying flauntng all his new money that he makes at his new job. Is it jsut me, or does it seem like Desperate Housewives is just about over? Nothing really too too exciting going on these days...

I have to admit that when they fast forward the five years I was disappointed, though it picked up for me.
I sense that The Scavos will no longer be as happy as before and that will make me sad but will add some zest to the show. Nothing like a good thing going bad to stir up some flare.
I think Gaby will be centered more since they dragged in her past. I really think things are going to really pick up next season.

I hope so! I do love the show. It's heartbreaking to see the Scavos break up, but htey both have changed so much that maybe they should at least take a break. I hope they work it out in the long-run. I felt so bad for Gaby having to deal with stepfather and her past. I didn't like the whole fat-forward five years either. My other favorite show - One Tree Hill- did the same thing....It throws you off a bit.

Hi zed
That is too funny, because when I first moved in with my boyfriend I had to tape/DVR the show because he would not have dreamed of watching it. Then one day I was watching it and he sat next to me. Funny how he will say, hum 2 minutes to Desperate Housewives airing and he is sitting on the couch before me with the popcorn ready to go.

Desperate housewives is one of my favorite shows. I definitely love Teri Hatcher's character: clumsy but cute. I've been an avid fan of this show. Sadly though, it no longer got aired on Philippine TV. We don't have a cable subscription so naturally I did not get to see the show as I used to.

Oh, that's too bad. It is a great show. Susan is my favorite character. She always end up in the craziest situations. Is there any way you can continue to watch the episodes online? If you go to http://abc.com you can watch full episodes of ABC's shows.

Desperate Housewives suffered from it's own success, the fact that it wanted to be bigger and better has also made it all the more difficult to surprise it's viewers. A plane crash, a tornado and this is the 5th? person that has been killed on the lane. They were only renewed on the 17th of May and the ratings slump means that they have to be more imaginative if they want to survive next year. The problem with long running shows with limited cast is that after a while it is difficult to write something original, new and amazing which is believable at the same time. The truce between Carlos and Bree, is not surprising, because the issue was that they had hid it from him, he forgave the accident. How will they deal with the guilt, that is what destroyed Mary Alice, Gabrielle will have the more difficult time I suspect. The thing is a murder cover-up is nothing new, they did it for Katherine after she shot Wayne. The break-up of marriages that cannot handle the constant strain that their lives are put under, again nothing new. It will be interesting seeing Lynette deal with Tom dating though as she is definitely going to have a tough time with that - it should be fun to watch though. Bree has turned into the fun kind and most relaxed character on the show, now that is a change. The thing is Chuck is a detective, I wonder how that will work out as he will realize they are acting strangely. Finally hopefully Susan and Mike will have a nice relaxing time, I think she will be able to confide in him, he will understand, keeping secrets nearly destroyed them the last time.

I di not htink of it that way, referring to them dealing with the guilt of the murder and the cover-up. You are absolutely right! THat is what did Mary Alice in. Right on about Susan probably confiding in Mike. Although, he did keep it from her that he visited Felicia in jail and that she wanted to pay him to murder Paul. I LOVE Bree's character these days! She used to be so stiff and she really has changed. I thought it was funny she burned dinner for the first time! I can see your point how it is tough to keep thinking of new and exciting story lines for a cast that is limited. Hopefully next season will be interesting!

Gaby was really lucky that Carlos came home just in time to save her. Now all of a sudden Carlos is forgiving Bree since she is helping them cover up that Carlos killed Gaby's stepfather. I have never cared much for Lynette and she has been my least favorite character on the show but I'm not sure I want them to break up. I think there is still a lot happening, though. They have a new secret to hide. Bree has another new man in her life, another of many. My favorite character, Susan, is back on the Lane and thus something new will happen involving her. Some new villain will enter the picture before too long.

Wow! I agree with everything you said 100%! Lynette is my least favorite as well. Not sure that I want them to break up though.Susan is my favorite and being back on the Lane, she'll be more involved in the maddness! I wonder if it will be an old villain or new villain. Next season does seem to be ready to start out with the intrigue and mystery we are all used to! Thanks for your response!! :-)

SuzzetteMB,
I believe the finale is opening up for season 8 with new developments and unresolved issues i.e. the Scarvo's marriage, Brea's new found love, Gaby's karmic past and others.
As season 8 is already filmed, the future for this series is really coming to an end with this season than the previously disclosed 9th season. Like what you've said, I believe the series is arriving to an ending which is viewership and ratings related. The series has already been around considerably and as such it is not surprising to loose the appeal and consequently viewership.
Let's hope that the series will end with a bang here.

Yes. I hope it ends with a bang! I love when the really good shows, such as Desperate Housewives, are able to end on a high note! I feel bad for the integrity of shows that just keep going and going and then eventually end because people are just over it and disappointed. Not sure if you ever watched One Tree Hill, but it's a great example of a show that is really really past its prime and needs to end. I will continue to watch it because I am still a fan of hte show, but sometimes I jsut sit there and say, when did this show get so "cheesey" or boring or just not very interesting?

Wow! Haven't been able to watch for a while now. Last epi I watched was when Lynette made a complete fool of herself in front of the Fortune 500. The big "Plus One" issue.
Tom and Lynette are my favorite characters in the series. Theirs is the most colorful, and most real-life story ever. I love how lynette acts. It's so natural. She can be adorable, formidable and annoying. I love it!
I'll definitely download the epis I missed and maybe tomorrow. (bandwidth isn't that great here in the PH)

Sorry. Hope I didn't ruin it for you since you didn't watch it yet! This is true. Lynette and Tom are the most natural couple, the most life-like. That "Plus One" episode was pretty funny when she did that! I always feel bad for Tom, though, because she is so bossy.

I thought the season finale was fantastic. The thing that I hate is that Tom and Lynette's marriage may be falling apart because they are too different people now. Tom is a different person now ever since he got that job and Lynette likes to be the "man" of the house, the one whose bringing in the money and stuff.
What really set the finale to the top was when Carlos killed Gaby's stepfather and the girls covered it up. That alone just made me excited to see the next season because it's like what's going to happen to now.

That was the best part. I like that it sort of heals the Bree / Carlos thing going on. I hope this next season is as exciting.

I have finished watch the Season 7. I think Lynette and Tom will separate for a while. But i do hope they can be together during Season 8. How can Tom change so much after become success man and rich. If like that, i prefer his characteristic when he is not rich but caring.
