This year was totally awesome, instead of doing things we know my wife likes, we only did exactly what she wanted. To start out, the kids and I made her breakfast which included, oatmeal, fatatas, and grits. Then the kids all hugged her and gave her her mother's day homemade cards and gifts. One very special card that our 9 yr old daughter made for my wife, made her cry. The outside of the card read: Jesus loves all the mothers, ...The inside of the card read: all the mothers of the world, red and yellow, black and white, they are pretty in his sight, Jesus loves all the mothers of the world. "I love you. JVJ." The outside of the card had a 2 flowers, a heart. The inside of the card had a large flower that was supposed to be have some scented words from her art set. My wife really just wanted some time to rest, she didn't even want to go out to eat. But she did want a specific meal from Ruby Tuesdays. So I went and got lunch and dinner from Ruby Tuesdays (Thank God for coupons!!!) While I was gone she and my our 9 yr old daughter did their "girlie things" nails and things. My daughter really enjoyed that! See her clearly polished nails in the photo? Lord, HELP, my little girl is growing up! Then later, my wife and I had some alone time together. Then the next day, she had an edibles fruit delivery. All in all, it was a great celebration! How did you spend your mother's day?

Mom's no longer with us, but I sent my step-mother flowers, and the MIL came over for a barbecue.

No, it's not really an annual tradition. This year my father-in-law's birthday was the day before mother's day, and my mother-in-law wanted to do something.

My Mom's no longer here either, which was why I only mentioned what my kids and I did for my wife, their mom. So is a barbecue a annual tradition for you guys? We attend bbq's but having hosted one yet.

We gave our mom a treat for a day. Like we do the household chores ,everything for her and all she had to do is rest. Then,we do it again this week,we wash the clothes and make her rest the whole day.

WoW, a whole two weeks off from household work! I'm sure your mom is absolutely thrilled to have you as her child! Kudos and way to go!

Sounds like you have a bright future ahead. I didn't know they held school on Sundays, though. Where do you attend school? What are you studying?
