Avoid Being Fooled Online!

We definitely all can say that scammers are all over the internet - they sell things different from the description, make you do something then not pay you, etc.
Of course, we hate scams and the people behind those! So guys, to help one another, I started this discussion for us to share our experiences and knowledge to avoid getting into scams or working for people who do not intend to pay us.
I think one way to avoid scam is before you buy a product, look for honest reviews of the product. What do people who have tried them said? But be careful as makers of these products know you'll do that and so they have made fake reviews.
Another thing I have been doing is try to see who's behind. If you're applying for a job online, see the profile of the person/company and see if it looks true and honest. If not, better not put yourself at risk.
I think our feelings have also the most thing to deal with decisions. If you feel it's fake, better not try it. It might be - or might be not - but more likely, you're right.
How about you guys? What do you do to avoid getting yourself into scams or working for people who are not going to pay you?

Check at the search engine whether the site is scam or not. You can also ask the experience about those sites here at mylot.

Like you said, we have to thoroughly background check the company we are applying with, or if it is a product we are buying, you can find some of your friends who have used or tried it before and ask for their honest opinion. It's hard to rely on testimonials on the net because they maybe fake reviews done by the company themselves, just so that they could entice more buyers.
But for me, it's best that i don't buy online. I don't want taking the risk of having my credit card number known to others in the net who may in one way or another could sabotage it.
