Americans and traveling

Many American people are finding gas is way too expensive at the moment. They seem to have large cars which need a lot of gas. Some of them are finding other ways to travel like by train or by coach. I suggest that they could sleep in a comfortable compartment on a train. In the day they could look out of the window. When an American person is choosing a vacation if might make sense to fly to a cheaper destination like Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua or Colombia. Why are gas or petrol prices so high at the moment? Can you think of how Americans can spend less on traveling? Have you ever been on an American train or coach? If so what did you like about it?

Trains aren't really that common in the middle of the country. Chicago being a different story. But in Oklahoma it is virtually impossible. We have the Heartland Flyer, but that takes people as far as mid Texas and no further. But Mexico as a vacation destination isn't really popular right now with the border situation. A lot of Americans have been kidnaped, attacked...The staycation is becoming more popular in the United States. Some of my family is going to Missouri, one state over from ours. There are really pretty destinations in the Ozark Mountains with so many entertainment possibilities.

Why Americans specifically? I think fuel prices are high worldwide. Not that I feel that's entirely a bad thing, paying more for something might make people value it more and reduce their use!

So it is not just Americans that are suffering the high cost of fuel. We are having that same problem over here in the United Kingdom. I use my car in my local area and take a train when I go to the city.

if the price of gas and petrol in USA is so expensive, i bet you will never accept the price in china. For the increasing price of gas and petrol, i'd like to say the reason is very simple, because the supply is shortage while the demand is rising. so the price will decline only when we find new supply of them.

believe me, travel by train in the States is not cheaper than driving, and doesn't always take you near where you want to go and bus... OMG!!! sardines are more comfortable on most buses!

Not only in America India ,Bangladesh and many other countries people facing high price of gas and petrol. As a result the price of daily necessaries are going up. The businessmen are arguing that because of high price of gas and petrol cost of transportation have increased. So they have to demand high price. In our region most of the people are poor. They live hand to mouth. So high price creates great effect on their life. Yes train journey is always comfortable and cheaper. If I ever go to America I will prefer train journey there.
