Extreme couponing

So I decided to try and use coupons again and one of our local supermarkets had triple coupons up to $1 this past weekend. I only had a couple of hours notice to pull together an order based on whatever online coupons I could find. I ended up getting 15 items total, consisting of pop tarts, pasta, bagel bites, detergent, entenmanns, and more and only paid $6.75 for all 15 items! Not as good as the people I saw on television but I was proud of myself! Has anyone else been successful with coupling and any great tips? I don't want to get extreme with buying newspapers just to get extra duplicates of coupons, just want to utilize the ones I normally get in the mail or can find online.

Coupons is one of the great wonders of the world. Of course, there are a lot of people who do feel like messing with them and thus they might be missing out. Which is a shame, as it can save a few dollars here, a few more dollars there. Sometimes it really does add up to a lot of real money. Its a way to save maybe not a money, but some money. Providing of course that coupons are used at the right time and for the absolute right reason. The trick for using coupons is to keep your eyes peeled for coupons for things that you normally would buy. Some people tend to fall into the trap of buying things, because there are coupons, not using coupons because they are things that they normally buy. That actually is counterproductive to saving money. In the end, you just got to really keep an eye out for the best deals and look for those coupons. Pick your spots wisely and you will save money.

Yes when I see someone buying 75 containers of mustard just because it is free and then store them in their house until they probably expire, i just don't understand that. I mean why not donate the excess goods? I like to look for things my family will actually use or at least new items that we can try.

Isn't that the truth! I mean, fine...get them for free..but then donate them to someplace! Why work so hard only to have your profit expire! Soda goes flat in about 6 months time... I know as I had stocked up on some cans of it...and tossed it out in about 6 months time as it was flat! So you know those plastic liter bottles go flat faster than cans! And deodarant..same thing..it does dry up!

Hey only paying $6.75 depending on what type and brand of items these were, are not that bad, and I would be Happy if it was me. It would be nice to be like some of the people on that show and get $100s of dollars worth of groceries for Free, but hey anytime you can get some savings off on something it is a plus. We occassionally get coupons for Free items from one of the stores around here and utilize that for sure.

Oh I wish we have that in our country. Getting great discount is one of those things I wish I could have in buying stuff online or in any stores. It is fascinating that you can get coupons anywhere from news papers to carton labels and on the internet. Ughh.. LOL! Happy Lotting!

Congrats and good for you! I have been thinking about organizing coupons but never quite get past the one or two coupon stage. I wasn't even aware there were coupons online until recently. I watched a few programs on TV about couponing and it really looked fun, but I don't know if I could go to the extreme they were doing it.

If you don't have many stores in your area that double coupons, your best bet would be shopping at the stores that combine manufacturer coupons and store coupons like Target and Walgreens. This morning I went to Target and got a Degree Deoderant and a Nivea body wash for $1.58. I had a $1.00 off Target coupon and $0.75 off mfg coupon for the deoderant for a total of $1.75 off and I also had a $1.00 off Target coupon and a $2.00 off coupon for the body wash for a total of $3.00 off. I don't have any problem finding the deals, I just have a hard time getting my hands on large amounts of coupons. Computers have a print limit of two, so if you have more than one computer in your house that would be better for getting the online coupons.

Congratulations to you! I do not know of any place that I can go that they will double or triple coupons. I wish I did as I might be able to get some good buys too then. I do not know where these people on Extreme Couponing live and shop but I wish I could use the number of coupons and the amount of coupons that they use on their shopping trips.

i've thought about attempting to do an extreme couponing experiment but haven't got ot it yet. i just don't have the effort to want to try it yet as it takes alot of time to save a great amount of money. i'll be sure to do it sooner or later though.

congradulations on your great purchase. i use coupons but nothing compared to the people on that show. where i live theres no doubling aloud. so only use one per purchase. still good deals though.
