Has anyone done a discussion on discussions?

I have been reading on mylot quite a lot lately that the idea of mylot is to generate an ongoing discussion.
This discussion is based around the idea that this discussion only gets one response but as many people as possible can join in to give an opinion on that response.
we need a discussion subject so i am interested in knowing if you agree with mylots discussion guidelines. can they be improved? would you only add to someone elses response if you had already left your own response as that does not get you any money?
lets talk in the longest discussion thread we have seen for a while

I did a couple a long time ago in an attempt to get the message across and they were fun:
http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2460954.aspx
http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2325656.aspx
The more responses (not just one) with each one generating individual discussions inside the main discussion and the more fun it is
Good luck with this one!

"would you only add to someone elses response if you had already left your own response as that does not get you any money"
Maybe I am misunderstanding but EVERYTHING that you do no matter where you do it will earn for you.
I add stuff all over the place regardless of whether I leave a response of my own or not.

Sad that topics finally come to an end because that was a fun day (or was it a week?) when we were on that one

Some how I knew in my mind that one of those links had to do with Chain Gang! That is where I learned to do what I do, I read, had fun and participated.

I can't say that I have but let's discuss, lol
Yes some of the guidelines need a bit of sprucing and a bit more descriptive as I find some to be a bit vague.
I tend to do a lot of comments on anyone's discussion and so you know we do earn. Don't forget that we earn for all participation.

I said sprucing because I want to stay within the guidelines and not say something against them.

Well a lot of times there are people here who have discussed discussions and what could be done to improve them, etc. There are times I am sure that the myLot admins have read over some of the thoughts and suggestions and able to change some of the things here, and take them to heart. One of the things I have always wished is there was an Easier way to know when you have responded back to a discussion or not, especially with your friends, is maybe change the link color or something just like they do in Email.

hi ajk the only one rule that I c an see that really needs improving is the poll type one as I have seem some that just do not seem to me to
be making a poll.No I will give a response as I do not like the idea of one response and for your information
if we write and post responses to your discussion we do get paid for them , you do not,you have to comment
back to us to get paid you work you get paid. we work we get paid. fair as can be. all we post is paid for comments and responses both. You should read the guidelines if you have not done so as it gives a lot of great information about how best to use mylot and have fun doing it.

I do think that there should be a guideline added that says "anything that Dawn posts is within guidelines"...

I think we have to go by the guidelines framed. they have been finalised, I am sure after so much of thinking and experience. However if you have a suggestion for change required, then you must write to them, impress on its plus points and if it is found suitable the admin may accept.
I believe in initiating discussion and also adding my own views.

Anything & everything can be improved...even discussions!!! Since you're NOT complaining, I think you are safe. I also think ravisivan has the right idea & if you come up with some serious changes, I'd suggest going through Admin!!!
