I am real proud of my son. He has his associates degree in elementary education. He now has to go for 2 more years to get his bachelors degree. He has been going to an online college so he hasn't had any breaks except for 2 weeks for Christmas break and he was going to go straight to going for his bachelors 2 weeks after he got done with his associates. I told him to see if he could get a summers break since he hasn't had any breaks. They let him since he hadn't started his bachelors yet.He doesn't have a drivers license so this is a good time for his grandpa to take him out and about to learn to get them.

I'm taking online classes too, but I'm only going for my associates degree. I'm in my second semester now. I am not really getting any breaks either. I had 2 weeks off between semesters, and I get a couple days off in the middle of each semester while we switch classes. I take 2 classes for the first 7.5 weeks of a semester, then another 2 classes for the last 7.5 weeks. Right now I'm in my 3rd week of the first session. It's not easy!! I'll be in school until next August before I get my associates degree.

I am just going for Medical Administrative Assistant.. I will probably be a medical secretary. Hence the reason I plan to begin looking for any type of secretarial job for the experience.

It is hard not having breaks. We are letting him live at our house and not have to work so all of his time can be involved in his school work. It is hard enough then to have to work too. What is your degree going to be in when you get it? Thank you for commenting! You have a good week!

I want to congratulate your son and you the mum for the associate degree your son have just had. You are now a proud mum. It is not easy to go to school especially in america were they are so many social distraction. I would want you to encourage him further to complete the process by going for a Bachelor degree. And then look for a job. He will be independent and will also support you financially if there is a need for that. Have a great day Margeryann!

Thank you for your nice words and congratulations! It will be nice if he is able to finish his schooling and get his bachelors degree. He wouldn't have to work as hard as he would have to not having his degree.

That's what I thinking. I was afraid if he didn't have a break that he wouldn't do so good in his schooling. We let him live at our house and not have to work so all of his attention can be on college since going to college can be hard as it is. Yeah, he will enjoy spending time with his grandpa. He needs to spend as much time with his grandparents as possible because they won't always be around. Thank you for commenting. You have a wonderful week. The weekend is almost here!

Congrats margery! What an accomplishment and a great achievement. I do understand you want him to take a break so that he does not burn out. On the other hand though if he is determined, it might just be great and only reason because mine went 3 full years all year round with only a Christmas break from campus. He graduated with his BA in 3 full years. Best of luck to him and you deserve a hug for being a great mom.

Thank you! I think my son was getting burned out. I wanted him to take a break so it wouldn't mess his schooling up.His college it takes 4 years of schooling to get your bachelors no matter even going constantly. He goes to college online and his school the requirement is to go constantly except 2 weeks for Christmas break. The only reason why they allowed it this time is because it is like started whole new school so he hasn't started it yet.The associates you go to a sister site of theres and for the bachelors you go to their school. The associates degree still says the name of their college on it instead of their sister college's name.

Thank you for such nice words!I hope he does cruise through the bachelors. I'm hoping it is easier then what he had to go through getting his associates since it will deal with more of what he is going to be instead of so much math and things like that as subjects. I hope he makes it through. Being a parent we always hope that it turns out and are afraid the whole time that it won't but don't let them know that.

Thank you for the congratulations! He is enjoying spending time with his grandpa. It is good that he can do that. You never know how long he has to be able to do that so he needs to enjoy as much time with him as possible. I never got to spend time with my grandparents when they were alive because they lived in a different state then me.
