How will changing some of the cast effect the popularity of this movie?

Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley are no longer in the new movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides but Penelope Cruz has taken a role in it. Will this help or weaken the views of fans?

As long as Johnny Deep is still Captain Jack Sparrow I would still love the movie!!! For me, he is the most essential cast, the Pirates of the Caribbean will not be the same without him...

Agreed Without Jack these movies would have gone no where fast. It's the way Depp brings hi, to life as though this was a past life or something that makes them so good

The stand out character in Pirates of the Caribbean is Captain Jack, so this is basically giving him a movie. The fact that they gave extra snippet at the end of the credits of POC 3 with Will and Elizabeth showing how their life will be, explains why neither character will likely be in the new movie. There is always hope though, a cameo here and there. The thing is as long as there is a Captain Jack, the story is reasonably well done, makes sense and is fun to watch the movie will probably be successful.

I think the movie will still be very exciting because of Johnny Depp. He played the role Jack Sparrow exceptionally. For me, the main attraction of POTC is johnny depp's good acting.

I think the Will and Elizabeth story line has been played out and they knew it. A few new changes won't hurt and I cannot wait to see it.
