When your birthday is near, do you make a wish list for your friends/family/significant other to get you?
Before, I used to because it would be easier for me & the person (plus people request it) but now that I have everything I possibly want (I always want stuff but I'm happy with what I have) I'm thankful for what I get and it's more fun for the excitement.
Also, how was your 21st birthday like?
I'm turning 21 in less than a month, I'm excited and if you're not 21 yet, what are your plans??

i never expect anything rather than wishes from my love, my best friend and my family people, till any of my wishes is not fulfilled yet so i didn't expect, i am just happy with what that i have, and yes i always eagerly wait for the wishes from my girlfriend and my best friend at midnight 12:00am , which gives me a great pleasure to my heart, and yes 10 days before i became 19.

Your girlfriend and your best friend calls at midnight 12:00am to wish you? Sounds very good. Such good people you have got as your friends.
I just can't imagine how good your relationships are going. You just made me feel a little jealous.
All the best for your life dude- enjoy it! :)
Regards,
Ajith.

Hmmm... let me think.
When I was a kid I did used to make somethnig like a wishlist. But no one ever bothered about it- not even me. I did it for fun, I didn't even have the guts to show to my dad. I never took it seriously. And who would care to give gifts to me?? No one does....
Sorry, I just went a bit emotional. I'm going to be 21 this July. Not yet celebrated. Well, nothing's gonna happen either way- my mom would make a cake and I might get a couple of birthday cards. That's all.
Happy mylotting,
Regards,
Ajith.

Thanks kajal. It's ok for me. Just like you said gift are not more valuable than their love. I only ask them for their love- i never asked for gifts.

I had never had a wish list on my birthdays.
I don't expect people to give me one.
I am more contented that people greet me on my birthday.
Advance happy birthday though.
In my country, girls celebrate their 18th birthday.
Boys celebrate their 21st birthday.
It is like a coming out party.

On my last birthday I made a list and I sent all my friends by email. The list goes like this: It's just material wishes ... because health and virtue, we want everyone!
1. Two good and expensive watches - one sport and one business
2. A thin and small laptop - and if possible lilac or green
3. More ... books, how to read a life now
4. A pair of shoes incredibly expensive and unjustified
5. A ticket to a concert outside the country - any music, either - no noise!
6. A Mediterranean cruise for 10 days - water and sun ...
7. A fish in a large bowl colored transparent

I have a couple years to go till i'm 21 and am definitely not excited. This is my last year as a teenager and I really don't want my teenage years to pass by so quick :(
Anyway, I never make wish list on birthdays but do make a huge one on New Year's. Actually on birthdays, I'm just so overwhelmed the whole day that I don't seem to concentrate much.

I do not make a wishlist. I am not a picky person and am happy with whatever I get. Everyone says I am the easiest person to shop for. I make wishlists on Amazon from time to time but I don't share them with people. Not sure why but I never do.

Well i never did that before.
In fact, my family doesn't have the tradition of celebrating a birth day "significantly".
My colleague celebrate the day for me actually. While it's time to make a wish, I don't quite have any idea of what to say. Yet, I was happy already though. It's more important to cherish your loved ones daily, right?
And, happy birthday to you ( a little bit earlier~) & Forever 21, Yeah

I've never done this even once in my life. I never expected anything before my birthday but having fun. Every gift I get, I just appreciate them (even the pencil sharpener I got back in 2007 which is pretty weird).

Well often times I can't really think of what I need right now when my birthday comes. Therefore, I just ask for the thing that all of us really can use no matter what and that is money. That way, if I do need something but cannot think about it right now, then money is the best policy. I would rather receive money then a tacky looking gift that I would rather use.
Of course, if I have an idea, I might float it to the right parties. Parties that I know are smart enough to get the hint that it is something that I want. Which is only a handful of people in my family granted. For some reason, some of them cannot get it through their head that I have enough clothes and my closet is packed and I want something more practical instead. Its the thought that counts granted, but there are some people who don't think.

when you are young, you make wishes in order to make things you aspire possible. As you grow old and become mature, you don't make wish anymore but thank god for the blessings that the years of your existence has given you. Anyhow i still believe that the wishes we make in our lives drives us to work harder in order to get what we aspire.Happy Birthday....

Awww to be young again LOL
I am way over 21, but I remember gettng the best thing for my 21st birthday I was expecting our daughter. My birthday was in july and she was born in September so it was an exciting time.
I have learned through the years I really don't like getting gifts...they are never usually anything I need or want. So birthdays are usually just a night out to eat.
Sometimes my husband will give me a gift card to one of two of my favorite places I get my lotions and fragrance mists. But if there is anything I really want I save for it myself and get it.

Now that I have kids and my brother had kids and all of my cousins have kids.... Yes, there are a lot of kids, we have started making up wish lists on certain websites as ideas. Usually the nuts or cousins will ask what to get onenof the children and it is so much easier to have that wish list and to tell them to take a look at it. I know I appreciate it when my cousins do it for their kudos when they have an upcoming birthday as I can then go online and buy the presents early.
As for myself, sometimes around the holidays I will make up a wish list but not for my birthday.

I don't make wishlist. No one would ask anyway. haha
I haven't received much gifts on birthdays. But I do receive overwhelming greetings. haha :)
Some of my dear friends though give me gifts but they don't ask me what I want. They usually do give on a surprise, which makes it more exciting. :)
