The problem with me is when i write something or for example when i give response or post discussion when try to explain the topics i don't get the good word in my mind which express my topics or my view in well manner so that everyone can understand easily but after i post the discussion or response suddenly good words come into my mind and i think whoops this word is quite better then what i wrote in my discussion or response. This happen in my exam also and due to these i don't score good marks. Anyone have the same problem as i have or anyone know how i overcome from this problem..please share with me..?

Hello siliguri, I too faced this problem many times. I can’t recollect the proper word suitable to that place and after spending much time on thinking I may use another word instead of that word. I can remember the particular word soon after posting the discussion. Earlier I started a topic on ‘left over food’. I wanted to use the word ‘left over’ but I could not get this word until I post the discussion, I used the world ‘balanced food’ instead of this word and after submitting the post button my brain told me this is the word you tried to recollect. (oh!!! sometimes lady’s brain is far behind…. Lol) The funny thing is we are very familiar with the ‘word’ but on necessity we can’t remember it.

Well when i see a discussion i never actually think of what i should response before i start typing the words comes naturally and i just think like i am talking to a friend and give him my advice. some times i read my response again before submitting it and if any new idea pops up then i add them too i would suggest you to read the response before you submit it. it helps sometimes i guess

Try to write passive sentences when you dont have words to express yourself directly. By doing this you will have a better representation as well and if you are lucky, some words may strike you while you do so, and make it look more smart.

Very often this happens to me. As my primary language is not english, i have to think comparatively more time to remember appropriate word. But in my language i can speak is very quickly. And i think mylot is very good medium to overcome this problem.

My first subject was english in my school and my mother tongue is hindi apart from writing in english we never use english in any other activities like in talking.etc. I think this is reason for which we are facing such problem and surely mylot will do for us. Thanks for the response..

you are right siliguri! Since English is not our mother tongue and we don't converse in English frequently, we all have some troubles like that. Reading more English literatures, not the one by the Indian authors, we can improve our vocabulary. Also, watching English movies will also update your spoken English skills.

Dear siliguri ! This problem will be there for all of us for whom English is not mother tongue. People who have taken English as main subject in their study probably they will have less issues. For all others we feel that we could have used a better word after posting. This should not make us stop talking or writing. We should go ahead. Keep going. Your writing will get improved day by day. Have a good day Siliguri.

I sometimes experience this. All I can suggest is learn better english. Truly, there are words better to express specific ideas so I'm also trying to learn more words so I can be specific on what it is I'm exactly trying to say.

Absolutely. But i think this is a problem most common to newbie writer and people whose not fluent with english. But like other skills this can be improved through training and practice. Just continue writing and expressing yourself. Someday you will be fluid and will be expressing yourself clearly.
