I have gained a lot of weight recently due to the fact that I have been home based and faced no struggles at all when it comes to traveling to work. I also have not been exerting any efforts anymore so I'm not burning my calories.
I have actually gained more than 10 kilos within the past six months... It's horrible. Many people are telling me now to lose weight but the question is how????
I know I need to make some lifestyle change but I have no time. I also cannot jog outside early as we the community is not so safe and I cannot wake up early because I sleep late. So I decided maybe I should try indoor activities.
I find treadmill to be pretty expensive. I saw stationary bike and thought maybe I can have this one. But I'd like first to know what should I expect. I've done a little research but I want to hear comments from people who might have used them
So guys, can you help me out? Should I buy a stationary bike? Filipinos here, what's the price if you have bought?
Thanks guys!

we have a stationary bike, another exercise thingie were you spin around, and one more that you step on plus an ab cruncher. I dont know their names because no one really uses them. maybe once in a week someone realizes that he/she should get exercise so they get dusted and used for a few minutes.
but its really your attitude and not the gadgets that will help you lose weight. if you are not determined to move around then buying a stationary bike would be a waste of money.

i think you don't really have to spend a lot for equipments like that..you can do aerobic workout in your home. be resourceful..improvise!ΓΌ search for exercises you can do at home.

my hubby had to lose weight due to health issues and i wanted to lose weight for the summer and to that end, i ended up getting a free stationary bike from freecycle. it doesnt have the electronics anymore but still works fine so we have been going on that. we have it in the basement with an old tv so we can watch it while we are biking. i would advise it but you have to be committed. even if you go on for 20 minutes per day, its a start.

I am not sure of the price, but you should try it if you can afford it and think you would use it. Treadmills can be more difficult to make into a routine. Even just sitting on an exercise bike and pedaling slowly while watching tv will be good for you and might be what you need to lose that extra weight. Good luck!

Brisk walking or jogging is the best but as you have said due to contradicting factors you can not do it.I guess stationary bike is almost the same as when your biking outdoor. My sister in law have one, she used it 3x a week. The price range depends on the brand, may 5K or a bit more. You could also apply for membership in any slimmers gym, they have all the facilities that could help you lose weight faster.

Hi Bannybanzie,
I used to own a stationary bike, and I liked it for a while. It was cheaper than a lot of other gadgets, but it took a lot of space in my room. I used to exercise in the evening, while watching a movie - otherwise, it's pretty boring to just stay there and stare at a wall.
I grew bored with it in a couple of years, and I sold it (it was still in decent condition, even if I used it about 3-4 times a week). So, I suggest you give it a try, and see how it works for you, but if you can find another solution to exercise outdoors, it would be much better.
