Discussion you most unlikely to participate

Here at mylot, you can start a discussion but not sure if people will join in or participate. I, myself I don't like joining into politics and religion, i can remember when I did attended a seminar regarding communicating with other people, that are the two topic to avoid. I think its true because we have different believes and when we want to get to know a person we try to avoid conflict right? Because some people are very sensitive in those areas. I bet no one wants to have a enemy here in mylot right? so I would rather not to participate in topics of religion or politics, I would read peoples opinion but I would rather not comment, for a respect to that person and also we all have the right to express our feelings here, this is a free site right? How about you? do you have any topics you rather not comment or participate? Peace! =)

I regard ANY discussion as an invitation to post my opinions and ideas. If the person only wants to hear things which massage their ego or merely agree with them, then it is NOT a discussion. MyLot is an open and an international forum. Anyone who joins it is bound to come across some things with which they don't agree and which they may even find hurtful. The way I see it, that is their problem, especially as I do not go out of my way to hurt people. Avoiding conflict is not always right but seeking conflict is almost always wrong. I do not have any enemies here. There are people who do not always like my plain speaking and perhaps they think of me as an 'enemy'. There are also some people who I know to avoid because they are antagonistic, narrow minded and only interested in those who agree with them. That happens in every forum. The discussions in which I am least likely to participate are those which I know can never be discussions. I am quite happy to give information (if that is all that is asked for and I know the answer) but many of those 'information only required' questions are against the Guidelines, anyway, and will be deleted, so there is no point in responding. One gets to know, too, the members who NEVER come back to comment in their discussions. Responding to those is like talking to thin air! They are not, and never will be, discussions! Unless the Discussion Owner comes back and leaves a worthwhile comment to worthwhile responses, then (a) it is NOT a discussion and (b) they are missing the whole point of MyLot and will earn very little.

hi owlwings I just wanted to say that so many times whem a discussion is not too clear and I see , well really I look for, your responses, what you had to say and it has cleared up so many different points for me. so I guess what I am taking forever to say is, I value your viewpoints on so many issues here as you are a level headed clear headed thinker.

Thanks, Hatley I always like and respect your responses, too. I am also intrigued by your fractal/kaleidoscopic avatars. Do you make them yourself?

hi rosie welcome to mylot. I really do avoid religion and mostly assuredly politics as i had t o many insulting, slimy repsonses just barely disguised as legal so I decided I did not need that 'hassle at all. some here get so wound up in their viewpoint they literally hound you if you do not change your opinion to theirs. I feel we all have a right =to our own opinions and to own our own opinions. nobody has a right to insulft and flame us but they do.

I usually keep away from discussions were my opinion differs from the poster. I don't want my star rating to go down. The star is supposed to be for good or bad content, but people abuse it and give a negative if they disagree with you.

Hi there, the discussions I don't like much are religion and politics as well... it is hard to stand up for myself particularly to topics that are not my expertise... I am trying to avoid any conflicts or whatsoever since these two are very sensitive issues... my religion might be different from other people and i don't want to offend anyone from telling what I think/feel. On the other hand, the topics/discussions that I most likely to respond to are about fashion, movies, music, personal experiences, making money etc. :)

Well, I think that all of the discussion here in Mylot are reflective of a person's interests and concerns. Of course, I would most likely not participate in a discussion that will not interest me or something that I cannot relate to. I would be a fool if I participate and would not contribute something substantial. If I do try to participate, I try to be impartial and diplomatic. I offer the same courtesy given to me and other members of mylot. I would agree that religion and politics are two Waterloos in terms of topic discussion but I try to participate anyway becuase I felt that I have a substantial opinion to offer. But it does not mean I have a right to filibuster. Do remember that mylot has guidelines regarding the posts and discussion. Members has a right to report discussions that they felt and they can reason that contains abuse. At least this way, everybody feels safe and counted for in this site.

Well, basically, the topics I don't answer are the ones I do not know how to answer and those that I can not relate to (for example, how can you respond to a topic about a movie you have never seen or heard of =P ). But more or less I think it's alright to answer or participate in any topic, even those about politics and religion, as long as you try to show some respect and do not demand that other people agree with what you say. The purpose really is to share your opinion, not try to persuade others to change theirs. Have a nice day, and peace too! =)

I respond to posts that have an interest to me or that I can give a full meaningful response to. I just don't pick out a topic that has no interest to me just to post some non-sense to try and get more posts in so that I can get more money. There are really no topics that I can think of that I wont post in but I do check them out first to see if I have an interest in them. Happy myloting everyone

Hi Rosie, I agree that there are discussions that I will not participate in, mainly because I do not have anything to add or I do not have an interest in that particular topic. I have been on a raging political debate on MyLot and sometimes I have to stop my participation because it was becoming too heated, but in the end I do enjoy debating and I sometimes invite people to disagree with me. I think my ideas become stronger with that fire!.

Friend every one has their own interest for that reason mylot has given a chance to select to their own interests and they can share their feelings. It is not necessary that you need to join, but as more as you join and start discussions and reply to the others discussions then you can earn more money and also you can widely share your feelings. I use to respond to allmost all the discussions here in mylot. I like this Mylot alot.
