Taking advantage of a new mall Abreeza in Davao City and its new cinema, I watched with my boyfriend "In the Name of Love" starring Aga,Angel Locsin, and Jake Cuenca.
I found the movie very entertaining. The story line was carefully crafted that you cannot predict what's going to happen next. The roles were exquisitely played by the actors, most especially, Jake Cuenca. His acting skills was superb especially when he tried to hit Angel but avoided it because he loves angel too much. I will not divulge further because I might spoil the thrill for those who have not watched it yet.
I recommend Filipinos to watch this movie. Its worth it.
At last, Filipino movies have improved!

What a miss I want to hear how the movie went on and as a male I don't think it's a good idea to visit the theater alone haha. Any lesson that can be learned from the movie? Let me guess, it is about two guys falling for the same woman? I sure think that's what the movie is all about.

hi cowboyofhell! yeah, i don't think it's a good idea for guys to watch it alone. Maybe you can buy a DVD and watch it yourself.
The movie is actually not about a love triangle. I believe it is more of a lover who despite of his or her predicaments, unselfishly chose to do things for his or her partner. This movie portrays that "in the name of love" we can sacrifice everything, even our own life. The love triangle of aga, angel, and jake, is just an added spice to the movie.
For the moral lesson, I learned that unconditional love makes sacrifices.

well as for me, i did want to watch it specially now that hot_legs15 mentioned that it is not about love triangle, it is more intriguing.. my mom and i are planning to watch it tomorrow.. yay! i just really hope that i won't get disappointed..hehe
i am just wondering, why is it that most men are not interested in a movie that is about love, what i mean is that most love stories do have lessons to learn, watching it does not mean that their manly reputation would decrease, right?

Hello Hotlegs,
It's not something that easy to make and innovate movies, most specially on a tight and small budget. I guess it's just good only for the Filipino showbiz industry to focus more on making a better love story rather than a crappy science fiction movie that doesn't get the taste of most people. i believe these actors are professionals and can do better and be like aga muhlach one day

Hi letranknight! Thank you for your response.
As the saying goes:"different strokes, for different folks!"
Not everyone loves love story, so I would not suggest it either. (sorry) This crappy science fiction movie your referring may not appeal to you, but if this is what the public like, let it be. For me, I also don't like it. lol. We cannot impose our wants on anyone. Just continue patronizing good Filipino films!

Interesting storyline and great cast is one of the factors why this movie is so good.

Hello hot_legs,
Angel Locsin is one of my favorite actress and I didn't miss watching this film though I just bought a DVD and just watched it here at home. I really like the story line, it is not the typical a boy falls in love with a girl while another boy falls in love also and the story went on. It is about real love, sacrifice and just giving up yourself for the person you love. The twist is not the typical also and for sure the people who guessed what would happen was wrong. and that makes the movie so special.

I haven't watch this movie yet but the trailer is appealing already. The story is unique, not the typical Filipino movie where you can guess the ending already. I'll wait for it to be released in Video City so I can watch it. I prefer watching at home than in cinemas.

Well, it must be really good, because it was said to be shot for almost a year.

I really want to watch it but i'm afraid the drama is too much for me to handle. Is it heavy drama? I want to watch it with my daughters. But I feel they won't recommend it as we have recently experienced the passing of my husband and watching this film may depress me much more. Is it still in cinemas until now? I really want to watch it and you're comment made me more eager to watch it. In the trailer, all the stars in the cast are very excellent in their acting schools. I hope I'm not too late to watch it.

So happy to hear that Filipino movies have improved!
And I am glad that some Filipinos really appreciate the local movie industry.
I am not a fan of Tagalog movies because of its predictable story lines..
But I am glad that some good quality movies are now being produced in our country.
Anyways, I'd like to watch that movie (after reading your review), but the problem now is how can I convince my husband to watch it when both of us have the same impression about our local movies? Did you bring your boyfriend with you in the movie house by crook or by hook? (lol)

another positive review to "In the name of Love". My girlfriend has been bragging me to watch this movie, but my schedule won't allow me yet. Specially now that i have to go out of town for work it will be harder to squeeze time to watch the movie. I just hope we get a chance to watch the movie together before the screening in the cinemas end.

Hi there, I already watched in the name of love and the movie was very great. They had the best cast and director, great story (tragic but good) and good cinematography. It's good to see that we have best movie to recommend. I am no fan of angel, aga nor Jake but when i saw their actings, they were so amazing. Angel did a good job of doing mature roles. Jake is perfect for his character and Aga is always the best.
