Whenever I'm depress and sad, I can't help to eat and for a while now, it's getting a toll in my weight. I have gained 25 pounds in the last 4 months. From 120 pounds, I went to whooping 145 today at 5'4 in height. I just can't help it and I'm still depress in what I am going through right now. I want to lose weight and I am trying the insanity program. It's been hard but I'm not seeing results. Well maybe it's just my day 2 that's why. But I also jog at around 5 in the afternoon. I don't eat rice anymore for 2 months already but my weight is still contant. I don't know what to do. Maybe you could tell me some diet you have tried. At one point, I even tried to take diet pills but it's not working. Hope you could help. Thanks.

I'll try number 1. I think I need to buy honey and lemon when I get to supermarket this weekend. For number 2 suggestion, I don't know where to buy gingerjuice. I'll also try to check it out in the supermarket but I don't think that's available in our local groceries here in Philippines. I'm jogging twice a week. Maybe, I need too increase the number of days I jog and the number times of exercise. I'm also cutting down on fatty food and don't worry i don't like junk food. I get full when eating junk food and I feel bloated with air.

Wow you are so blessed that you are not that gaining weight. It's normal to have belly fats after the pregrancy. You could lose that by doing household chores and doing cardio exercises. Do you eat a lot? What do you do to stay slim?

i eat 2 pizzas in one meal, or sometimes 2-3 cups of rice. i cant live with out snacks, and last night i even ate 3 hotdogs and rice as my midnight snack. i dont do anything at home, no exercise, no chores, just watching over my 1 year old son. i dont know why im so thin, but i dont like it that much. i feel like many people arond me thinks that im anorexic or something. i with i could be a little more fat (not just in the belly, haha) and have my arms not totally skin and bones. :)

What is the insanity program? Is that a diet program?
@luz823 (133)

Insanity program is the hardest workout program put on DVD. The personal trainer is Shaun T. No equipments needed. You just need to push your limit with nonstop intervals of strength, power, resistance and ab core training moves. It's really making me sweat for about 45 minutes of exercise. You could try to download it. :) But I cannot say that it's effective yet since I'm still at day 3 and I can't still see no progress on my weight. :(

Hi there, I am fat either and just like you I have gained 20 pounds since the holiday season. Imagine, from 120 pounds to 140. :| I have been eating a lot lately. Blame it to my mother who cook real good food. haha. But I am currently on a diet mode right now. I have not eaten rice for the past two weeks. I am also trying to avoid red meat, sweets(which is obviously a big no no for me since I am diabetic), oily dishes, etc... I am watching my calorie intake too. I don't eat foods that are over a hundred calories. I am planning to hit the gym next week. I am dying to shed off the excess fats I have so I could wear whatever I wanted... Yay! goodluck! :)

Same here from 120 to 140 starting from January. I have gained weight because of the holiday season too and came January, my husband passed away. All the depression that I was feeling turned into compulsive eating and all turned into belly fats. I am also doing no rice for about 2 months already but I don't know I have a little progress with my weight. You don't eat foods that are over a hundred calories? So what do you usually eat. I think I cannot do. I will starve. Haha. I want to go to to gym also. But I still don't have the budget, I hope by next time I have the money to go the gym. I want to lose weight because I am feeling the weight over me. Whenever I walk, I feel my belly. I also feel it whenever I wear my old clothes. It doesn't fit to me anymore. Huhu. I hope we lose some weight. Thanks.

Sometimes, depression has its different effects on me. There was a time when I was totally feeling so miserable and hopeless that eating was the least of my worries. I couldn't eat more two meals a day. And wen I eat, I only take a little. Now, the case is reversed. I'm also at that point in my life where I feel so down and helpless and I eat a lot. I eat tons of chips and fastfood. But after a while, I realized that eating too much of every thing makes things worse. I started diverting my attention from my misery and problems to other things like how to earn more online, working harder than ever and meeting friends whenever I can to relieve the depression. O think that as long as depression is present, you can't stop eating too much or doing things that make your body worse like I did.So the first step is to really help yourself with the difficult phase of depression you're going through then make a mantra, that every time you eat more and more, you might lose yourself in the process as days pass. You can do this. Good luck!

Same here. When I was young, when I have a problem, I couldn't eat. But now that my husband passed away and I can't still get over with it, it feels like eating makes me feel good. Ice cream makes me happy. Sweets are making me high. That's why I jumped to 140 from 120. Huhu. I think I need to divert this feeling. Maybe I'll try to be more active here. I will try to do the mantra. Thanks friend for the enlightment. Good luck to the both of us.

i have recently lost 25 pounds. 10 of those pounds lost were from doing 30 day shred dvd. So i would recommend trying that out. also weight from exercize bike or treadmill for 30-60mins a day. i use a site called caloriecount to keep track of the food i eat so I don't go over my daily calorie limit. This really helped for me.

wow 25 pounds that's awesome! What's the shred dvd that you have tried? Maybe you could share to us so that we could try. I would like to use exercise bike or threadmill but I don't have the budget for the equipments. Maybe I could buy if I already have some spare money. I also use a site called myfitnesspal same as calorie count, it keeps track the food that i eat, exercise that I make and the number of glasses of water that I made. It makes me conscious about eating. Thanks for the suggestion and I do hope I can buy the equipments as soon as possible so that I could try that.

I also drink a lot of water for about 3 liters a day. I'm really not sure how many glasses of water is that. It makes me full at some point. But when I don't have water, to feeling of being hungry sinks in. Good thing you have an exercise gadget. Maybe if I have to funds I'll buy, the only exercise I do is to jog. I usually walk at around the afternoon when the sun and heat is already gone and the weather is fine.

Oh, I am just chubby and honestly it take only several kind of movements for me to lose the fats I have gained from eating too much sweets especially chocolates. I don't like jogging. But I jump rope to be healthy. I need to move more than just the activities of daily living. And if I really have a goal, I force to discipline myself to see the results. Good luck with yours! You can do it.

Hi Luz You just started to exercise so the exercising will take effect in a couple weeks but you must remain consistent. Drink plenty of water and eliminate any high sugared soft drinks as possible and make sure to eat 3 - 4 sensible meals a day. You have to build your metabolism and you can only do this by consistently exercising, eating right and drinking plenty of water. I have done it and although I was not big to being with I lost 70 pounds in 4 months. Have kept it off for 3 full years, because my metabolism lifted. I still exercise and do as I mentioned above. I lessened my exercising because I am way too skinny and do not want to loose more but have not lost anymore weight and can pretty much eat anything I like but most days I still eat very sensibly. Best of luck with the weight loss.

You must consciously avoid fatty and fried food. Increase the quantity of fruits and vegetables because fruits and vegetables have several protective mechanisms for your body. Be aware that more people in the world are becoming obese. Have a strict regimen of diet and exercise. Do check your BMI. Eat your meal at the correct time every day. You must drink eight glasses of water every day.

If you keep on dieting and jogging and still NOT losing weight, better have your thyroid checked or your TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone). Or you might as well like to consult an endocrinologist for your problem and the doctor will advise you to check your TSH too. I have the same condition too and I am hypothyroid. It was pretty amazing before that I am gaining weight even though I'm on a diet and don't eat diner. You can check the internet for the reasons on why you're gaining weight so you can evaluate it yourself.

Do abdominal exercise everyday for 15-30 minutes during you free time. I used to be really fat and weighed 160 pounds. I lost ~2o pounds within 3-4 weeks by doing abdominal exercise. Simple abdominal exercise routines are doing some sit-ups, bicycles, leg raises, leg crunches, and other AB exercises. Also do some push-up and over time increase the number of crunches or sits up you do. The most important thing is to have determination to lose weight and mentally avoid your self from eating junk food or fatty foods.
