Religion and its inner meaning.

All the religions in the world have advised their followers to serve the suffering humanity and to try their best for the benefit of human beings; to love all fellow men as their own brothers or sisters, as sons or daughters or as mothers or fathers, to help them in need, and so on. Then why there is so much rivalry among the followers over the superiority of their own religion resulting in unnecessary, unwanted and undesired bloodshed and occasionally a heavy toll of lives? Is it due to over enthusiasms of the fundamentalists or our inability to go deep into religion to make out its inner meaning?

Every religion thinks it is the perfect religion! Every other religion is wrong and should be avoided! No religion is perfect and alot of them are very similar! So much of religion is bull crap and so many people have closed minds! They if you belong a church they try to make you feel guitly for not attending church and not giving enough money in the offering plate! Most religions are money hungrey and only think of themselves! They say things they can't back! So many religions have ugly pasts! This is one topic that really gets me going and is hard to talk to people who are closed minded!

Religion and money are the same thing. And this why people got closed mind concerning religion. If only they could follow what the Lord Jesus said and did. Nevetherless darkness and light goes together but not mix. Whey they mix that is when the conflict begins.

hi doctordidi, its good discussion started by you,one thing i would like to tell you here is "religion(dharma-hindi)is for human being and not human being for religion." However today our folks forgot this and thats why they started doing such things. Today some people give importance to religion instead of humanbeing they forgot if there would be no human then there is no religion, religion is nothing without society or humans.

Hi ritzz07, you are absolutely right that religion is for man and not man for religion.

Hi DoctorDidi, I think that there is truth in both of your suggestions. The fundamentalists are much more interested in converting others than in trying to live as their religion teaches. On the other hand very few are willing to go deep into the teachings of their religion and learn it's inner meaning, even among traditionalists. Most put much more emphasis on the material than on the spiritual. Blessings.

Religion at its best should teach people to help others and feel people are equal. So much of religion is hypocritical and that is so sad. Teach people to do what is good and of value and pure then end up being a child rapist or something worse. As far as a inner meaning I think cults are more that way.

All I can say about this is that religion, all religion are cults, organizations. Think of religion as the mafia. The mafia is an organization, but criminal. Religion is no different. Just like the mafia kills one another, so does all the religious freaks. As long as there is organized religion, there will always be animosity, hatred, war and murder. That is why the world is so divided. If people can just learn to be people instead of the leader of organized anything, then maybe we will all get along peacefully.
