May 21 is Judgement Day?

Since yesterday, everybody is talking that May 21, is judgment day as one pastor of a religious sect has predicted. I even saw it on TV that they are distributing pamphlets about it.
In my opinion , it is only God who knows when Judgment day is. We just have to be always be ready for it, by doing good and believing in God. True enough, this is what I have read in my daily reading :
Do not let your hearts be troubled. . . . (John 14:1)
So today, calm your troubled heart - look to Jesus and ask for His help in attaining and retaining that calm - it is His blessing and His promise to us. Accept it and be thankful for his deep generosity.

Ah yes, there's a big streamer here in our city announcing such a Judgment DAY! May 21 is the date. But I ain't bothered in any way with that. I take heart and trust that GOD is the controller of the Universe and only Him who knows when.
We have to be reminded of JESUS' words in Matthew 24:36 "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven nor the Son, only the Father." Jesus already predicted the possibility that people will tend to predict the end of the world or the Judgment day, thus he said.
Let's continue to trust in the one true GOD who holds everything in our life. God bless you Simplyd.

@Simplyd - I find life much better to live when you know whom to trust. And that is GOD. We all have thoughts and anxieties about the future but when we start to lean not on our own understanding and human thinking, and live in faith with GOD, life is much finer and better to live... :)
@swirlz - that's why a lot of people would be deceived to join some religious cult or something because they thought about salvation as something could be worked out and that they have to be assured of salvation before it's too late. :)

Well I personally could to with what is it 200 Million people that they say around the world are going to disappear from the planet over night. I already got plans for the 22nd of May as well I am not planning on my ascension any time soon.
This is just like the 200 or so other predictions for when the world or the rapture or what ever event in the Bible they believe it to predict to happen next is going to happen. I mean what was it 6/6/06 was going to be the day the anti-crhist came to power nothing happened. I mean they so far are 0 for 200 that is a really bad percentage (0%) but maybe they will get it right anyway me and my friends will still be here.

You are both very right. I find such predictions so absurd! I annoys me a lot that people would keep on repeating that on May 21 is judgment day.
So what if it's already judgment day! I am ready anytime, just as the bible tells us to be always ready when our time comes to die. Meantime, i would like to enjoy May 21, just like the rest of the days.

May 21 is a perfect day to relax, it's a weekend! Yepeeey! haha
Yes, we just have to be ready, we never really know when, only the FATHER knows. Not even the Son knows. not even the angels. Then some stupid creatures on earth, would claim they know? Wheeeew! How dramatic and absurd. I think people just need to be educated at times so as for them not to panic. lol. :)

Ah yeah, I am sick of hearing those kind of predictions. And sick of people who get easily carried away by those silly things. I just don't give a da*n... It's just all bullsh*t... and they're just a collection of sick people trying to tell everyone that they're stupidity is going to end.
I even have plans on May 22 too, go on a trip with my friends. Then I have plans the next weekend, then the next month... haha so they can't keep me from going... They go believing on their dang stories. They just don't mess up with me and force me to believe them, coz I really wouldn't :)

Yes, i guess there will be signs when judgment day is nearing. Calamities will occur in any place, war from different places will break our and people don't get to forgive each other anymore. Those are only a few, but they give weight in telling the signs.

I have read in the newspaper about the founder of that Doomsday Group. His name is Camping. He has previously predicted that the world would end sometime in September 1994. Well, that didn't happen. There is no reason it would happen tomorrow. Let us put our trust in the Lord. No one knows the day or the hour...

Yes, I have also heard that from a religious radio program. I also don't believe it and like you, I also believe that only God knows when will be the end of the world. We cannot predict nor calculate God's time, only Him knows. What we should do is to be ready and be good all the time since we all know that our lives are just borrowed from God and He can take it back any time. May God bless us always.

That is very true. God and God alone knows when will the end of the world be.
We have just to be ready at all times, in case God wants our life back already.

Whichever date it is, i don't believe them all. I just go on with my life and not worry about it.
How could others scare people with such nonsense? They ought to be penalized for saying those.

I will not believe it and I think his just doing it just to earn great money.I'm not sure if he released books but This type of thing is not really believable. There's not strong proof and your right, only the creator knows when will be the right time. However I will not say that there is END OF the world,I rather say that There is End of human existence. The world will stay but human population will drop down if the natural disasters continues as well if world war 3 will come. That's the only two options I will nearly believe. The other predictions I will not.The mayans even get tired of these questions!

I heard that the exact time for this rapture this judgement day is exactly 6pm PST. It's just 10:30am here, so if you don't get to respond to this post before everything is gone I understand.
But if it doesn't happen, then see you on the other side.

It's already the 23rd and nothing like that happened. Our trust in God, doesn't make us fear for anything like that to happen , if it will really happen.

Hi Dina
It is gone, nothing happened lol, in the past years there had been several predictions, well if it has to end, can we prevent it by any means?
I never believed on these. Not even what our Hindu faith says.
we are passing through ‘KALYUG’ of 432000 years, gone 5112 years, still balance 426888 years.
So why worry for something which MAY come after ‘426888’ years?
The way we are playing with nature, the environment is showing its effect already, as the global warming, change in weather patterns etc.
Thank you for sharing
Enjoy life to fullest.

Well, professor it's already the 23rd here and nothing happened.
Though, there are signs like those calamities everywhere , makes us think the end is near. So, let's just be prepared for that day everyday of our lives.

I think people should have a little faith in God and know that in His heart He knows what is right for us. So people need to just live their lives like they normally do and just believe in God and Jesus. The only person that knows when the world will end is God and that's it.

That's right, let us all just put our trust in God. It is HIM and HIM alone who knows when our days will end.
So you see, it's already the 23rd and yet none like that happened. I guess that will silence those who said about that one.

The ignorant and and the gullible have been predicting the end of the world for centuries. Maybe it'd be best if they all went off to judgement or whatever it is that they are expecting, and left the rest of us in peace!

I refuse to believe this or let it worry me in anyway. Tomorrow (may 21) is my daughters 7th birthday. It will be a wonderful day for her which will make it a wonderful day for me as well. I am so looking forward to it. I remember the first time that they said the world was ending that I remember anyway was when I was in about 9th grade. I was scared a little bit at that time but every year after that when I heard the prediction that the world was going to end I just felt it was hogwash. The world is not going to end tomorrow and the one going around preaching that it will is going to be very embarrassed tomorrow.

If May 21, 2011 is the Judgement Day, is it in EST or PST? Just kidding, I totally agree with you that only God knows when it will happen but we should be prepared by heart and soul. We don't need a date, if we already accepted Him as our personal savior and I don't see any reason why are we going to be bothered when He will be coming. God bless !

i agree my dear.i am a devoted christian and truth is i have read the bible from the genesis to the revelations (for knowledge sake).unfortunately there was no such prophesies of isaiah or the revelations when is the judgement day. but one thing for sure he is coming back to rule over HIS creations. actually, in the new testament, there was this passage: God will come like a thief in the middle of the night, when most people is asleep and unprepared. the catch is: even though we do not know when is that judgement day, by being prepared spiritually, we can accept our sentences. we don't have to worry about when it will come. just be prepared for it. how? just accept HIM as your savior and nothing else. i keep on using the word and capitalized HIM to emphasize that i do not have prejudices or biases whatsoever to those people of other religion. whatever our religion, we still worshipped and believed on the same God - the creator of heaven and earth and everything upon it.
but all these happening around us are part of HIS coming back. another passage in the bible says: beware of false prophets and prophesies. still another says: everything will change, there will be massive natural disasters, the ground will shake, etc. these are basis actually that he is near. but when? we all do not know. do we have to see the written testaments of his coming? i do not think so it is HIS thing. Adam and Eve was exiled from the garden of Eden because they violated God's commandment. there is a parellelism with that. HE wanted us to remain rational. use our free will and intellect. HE endowed us with lots of it.
have a good night sleep..
