I am diagnosed today that I have clinical depression.. and I have 2 options to cure it! 1. depend on drugs... (but its no good.) 2. break it myself.. Its really hard.. No one ever said its easy! I think what I just needed is more confidence in myself.. I just don't know how to get that confidence.. I don't know where to start to get confidence.. Suggestions and tips are highly appreciated.. Thank you! :)

hello eds, Too bad my lady... First, you need to know what makes you feel depressed. Second, you need a new environment. Have a break..have a kitkat (hmnn..i remember sids for this) Honestly, you really need a break. -new environment- have a vacation in somewhere. a place where you can find some serenity, and gives you happiness. Like,if you love nature, prefer a place where you can enjoy nature. If you like crowd-then go bar hopping. Do the things that you enjoyed much- it will help you release all the tension. Note that,no one can help you but yourself alone. If you will not cooperate,it will bring you down to the worst scenario. I am not scaring you dear...but depression is somewhat serious when not given action in proper time. your lady, jaiho

my doctor even gave up..because i never cooperate. it's my kids who brings me back to life. One day,my son saw me wet and drenched - i stayed in shower for hours just to feel cold and might bring me back any feelings within. But no,still i never felt cold...but when i saw my son staring at me blankly-with eyes questioning rather than wondering- it hit my mind like "BANG" D*mned, you're not alone...your kids needs you and your family. That's it,from that time- i tried to battle with ownself..and thanks GOD- i did- i win.

Oh my bunso, you're crying without any reason..that's a bit alarming to me bunso! I guess you should always have someone to talk to,don't let yourself be alone ok,sometimes when you're alone, you feel lonely and you tend to cry,so please be with your family always ok. There's no best medicine for it bunso than prayers. Pray for Him to help you with your sickness,He is the only one who can heal you without any medication. But of course,God helps those who help themselves so try to do evrything bunso to heal it..always have in mind that your siblings and your whole family needs you,so live for them. Take care bunso!

Clinical depression is a chemical imbalance and a physical illness. You cannot defeat it with positive thinking or confidence. Could you just will yourself out of cancer? Don't think so! Get on the medicine!!!!! It is not a sign of weakness to use medical treatment. You are not superwoman...... You are human.

the thing aboutgood depression is that it is not in your head but it is an actual physical malady.so you need to treat it as something that is a physical sickness and not just "all in your head." The best way to treat a physical illnessis to treat it with physical cures. After all you would not fix a broken leg by saying that it is all in your head. :-) Depression means the attention of a medical doctor so that he can prescribe medication for your depression. The modern world spends many many millions if not billions of dollars a day researching such things as clinical depression in an effort to find solutions to such a problem. Therefore I would suggest medication. It can really work wonders and God knows that telling a person with depression to just "cheer up" is not always possible to do. In fact it rarely is good advice. If on the other hand your doctor says you are not clinically depressed then perhaps the advice to smile into happy things and watch happy movies or read inspirational books -- -- can be helpful.

Sorry to hear that edss. I was just wondering , why would a pretty girl like you be depressed? I think , you should socialize more and be with happy friends always in order to beat it. Watch happy movies. Do exercises, because it was proven that exercise takes away depression. Most of all, pray that you may overcome whatever is bugging you.

do all the research that you can do about your illness and become your own advocate. confidence comes from believing yourself and knowing you can do things. find things that you are good at and work on them.

I have been a therapist for many years, but recently retired. I have always recommended that people practice meditation and it doesn't have some good results. On my profile I have a link to instructions and further information on meditation. If you can though, I would contact a registered therapist who is familiar with natural ways of treating depression, as there is nothing as good as actually sitting and talking with somebody who knows his work. You are quite right, it is not an easy thing to break, but sometimes it is like a "call for help" from your inner self that wants you to do some form of self-development. I fully believe that you need to find what is right for you, and not take advice from others too easily that don't have much experience with such conditions. Listen to your own intuition, and doing that, is all you may need to do. I wish you good luck with your endeavours.. _Derek

Have you ever heard Bon Jovi's "its my life" ? If not then go and listen to it and few other similar tracks. Be sure they are inspirational ones. Believe me it definitely will help. :)

If you wanna gain confidence, just do your special interest. Normally you'll gain confidence doing your extra-curricular activities like basketball, singing, playing computer games or whatever it is you fancy.

The solution for this is to join yoga classes. It will help you a great deal to overcome your problems. Most of the people from your country come to India to get themselves healed for these ailments.

That is such a bad news to you. Depression is quite difficult to overcome. I was able to slowly survive my depressing months with the help of my friends. I tried to reconnect to people who used to mean a lot to me and to people who have always been there for me for years. I went out with them, shared stories and shared some of my deepest thoughts and emotions. I also tried to be busier with work and among other things like watching movies and reading books. I went back to doing what I used to love doing. You just have to remember what they were and you would soon find that you can always find some source of escape and happiness by rekindling your relationship with old friends and old hobbies. Traveling also helped me a lot and if I really felt so down back then, I treat myself with something new. Also, prayer is quite a good help. I hope you'd soon be okay.

Sorry to hear you are very sick. What about practicing Pranayama e.g. breathing exercises, you can find a lot of info on the Internet about Pranayama and on YouTube. I have started practicing Pranayama myself and it helped me a lot it helps with confidence, with depression and any health problems and it does not cost you anything and it is something you can do for yourself. All the best.
