Looking at my reflection in mirrors or any surface that can reflect it!!!
Logging on to myLot!!!!
AND drinking lots and lots of coffee...
I also used to be addicted to T.V but since I moved here in the city where I have no T.V I have cured that addiction, maybe try putting your television in the attic or stock room...but nah, you can always just access it when you feel the need kick in but the trick is self discipline...do something to replace this habit...find other interest that you can build on, like myLot for example

I'm a substance abuse survivor; so a very addictive personality. I'm teetotal now, so don't abuse any substances. But I do have certain bad habits. I love tea and coffee; and sugar; and chocolate. I don't get enough exercise, and spend too much time seated. I don't watch TV, but I love to watch movies on my PC, although to be fair only at the end of the day when my work is done. If I were to advise you how to break your TV watching habit; I'd say: why not try and ration your viewing? Watch for a small amount of time, and then do something else, something creative. Write a letter perhaps, or an e-mail. Do something else you enjoy doing. Then maybe later you can go back to the TV. Watch in small sessions, so you look forward to it: maybe if you watch too much, you can find yourself a little low. This would happen to me. So my advice is: split your viewing up into sections; and alternate it with other activities you enjoy. Good luck!

Maybe it's hard but you might be misinterpreting "hard" here. Overcoming a habit is pretty difficult in a way because you have to divert your attention to something else. Plus, a new habit can be established in 27 days. If you replace your bad habit with a new one, it could be more effective than just stopping one.

My most addictive habit used to be playing games at Facebook. But, since I've stumbled upon MyLot, I haven't played in a long, long time, and now I'm addicted to Mylotting.

I am also very fond of watching TV, after my office work. I have a two certain soap operas at 8 - 9:30, that i watches from Monday -Friday. I would always rush home just to be able to see it. But that's it. I have other chores to attend to plus my hubby watches tV too, so i am not that glued to it.
I guess, you should find some chores around the house that could take you away from the TV. Or you could have a hobby that could divert your attention from the TV. And remember, if you are a couch potato, it will be detrimental to your health. You will grow bigger and bigger that you will regret it later. That alone is enough to motivate you not to be a couch potato.

It sounds like you need to find some hobbies that will get you off your couch and into the big wide world! If there are things to do in the evening near you, try them, instead of vegging out in from of the TV. Read more and write more. Learn an instrument. Garden if you can. Cook or learn to cook delicious meals. Learn another language. Paint or draw. The list of the things you could do is endless, if you think about it.

As of now and even while I am in the hospital, I am addicting to playing games in the net. I also got addicted to watching Discovery Channel, National Geographic and History Channel because that is the most educational oriented television channel in the hospital. I think watching tv and korean series is my addiction.

I am pretty much addicted to surfing on the computer. I sit in front of the computer many hours each day, about 7 hours at the work place, and again about 3 hours at home after I get back from work. Back at home, myLotting comes first of course. I would also spend some time reading news reports of things happening around the world.
