Yes, this is one of the saddest things of our politicians, they say thing which they do not fulfill. But it is also their job to tell lies as people put a lot of pressure on them to do something for them with the limited resources they have and this is how they have to do to contain their people.

You have rightly commented that it is their job to tell lies to please all the sections of the society and obviously it is not possible to fulfill so many promises already committed to different sections of the society.

The world of politics will always be associoted with the telling of lies. it is just human nature for us to do so.

I think you are probably right, it is just human nature. If I were a politician, I also would had to take the same policy of promising right and left and then forgetting everything I had promised.

Here In the States we just ignore politicians it seems. Only half of us vote so there is only one fourth of us that are Truly happy with an candidate. They get into office by lying and then they have to continue lying to remain in office.

Democracy in itself is a good thing since it involves a lot of people in the political scene. We can never say that there is no alternative because that is the advantage of democracy. If the politician in position does something wrong, at the end of the day, we can only go back to ourselves since we are the ones who elected them. We have to choose wisely during election day to prevent this from happening.

LOL..It's true! Sometimes, politicians really need to lie because to get symphaty with people. But it's not the right thing to do. They just need to prove themselves and do the job for them to gain trust. And that's what they're not thinking. ^_^

I think that it's always best to assume that a politician is not telling the truth - or in the words of one British politician, that he's being economical with the truth, - rather than take what they say at face value. Yes, we keep on electing them and re-electing them because there is no other choice and anyway, the alternative to an elected govenment, lies and all, is tyranny and suppression of basic human rights as seen in many parts of the world today.

Hi DoctorDidi, This never ceases to amaze me but I guess it's just that there is often very little choice. I watched it happen here in my own country recently and just couldn't believe that more people didn't care about the lies. While there were some good outcomes in the election, the ruling party was re-elected, with even more seats and we are already seeing disturbing things happen. To me honesty and openness are very important and our present government gets a failing grade on both counts. Blessings.

Politicians are supposed to be public servants, supported by us, but they are two things to two different people sometimes going the ways of the world instead of what they are actually supposed to do. Money becomes more important than people Android people who matter most with money become more important.

I think the nature of politics determines that everyone participate in it have to lie. When we lie in ordinary life when call it "dishonest",but when we lie in politics we call it "briliant."
