How is the news that Mrs.Kanimozhi, daughter of ex-chief minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. M Karunanidhi received by you and your friends. Let me share my thoughts -- I do not belong to any party -- I normally support AIADMK -- regarding this issue I am unable to reconcile that a lady of her stature could have been involved in a scam of this magnitude of over Rs.200 crore. I think the real people must be some men behind the scene. However law has to take its course and CBI has arrested after the election results were against the DMK. I am looking at the situation from the angle of 'life'. What is life? Till yesterday she was living in a posh house and today she is confined to a jail where culprits involved in murder, dacoity are held. Life is so uncertain and nothing can be predicted.
Different countries have seen people rising to power and getting out of it without respect. What are the views of myLot members in this regard. Let me make it clear that this discussion is not on political angle but from the angle of different facets of life.

we are living in a world where everything is money;
so its no big deal that she is involved

thanks for your response. that too first response for this discussion. Am I right--this is your first posting in a discussion? Money is required. But that alone is not sufficient in life in many ways. Poor people have a much longer life. Rich people have less life duration. It happens. Rich are not that happy as auto driver who earns Rs.500 a day in India. He is very happy with his family. Have a good day

Normally, the politicians come to takes charge of power wants to make huge money. They are not satisfied with all the luxury they have. They cheat the people of the Country. These Corrupted politicians makes the country to ruin. They do not do any good to the Country. It is the question of Country's security.
The Trust of the Common People is lost on the Politicians. It should not be allowed to continue.

Well she might be innocent or might herself not done anything wrong but A Raja has certainly made the big cut and those funds were injected into the TV channel of which Kanimozhi is part of, so as an owner she has to face allegation as its impossible that funds were infused without her knowledge. Its just to be seen if proper justice is done as till date no politician has ever got any sentence in this country and that the saddest part.

I should say that Mrs.Kanimozhi, daughter of ex-chief minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. M Karunanidhi got a real turn in her life. I myself study at Tamil Nadu- I do my medical studies there. And as far as I know, she was a woman with a very bright political future.
I think that all what she had stored in for the future- the dreams, the power- everything got lost in a matter of seconds when her sentence was declared. She is now destined to rot in prison with other cold-blooded personalities.
Life is just like that- changes its course in the most unexpected time in the most unexpected route! And one can do nothing against it other than fight back the fate; which usually wins!
Happy mylotting...
Regards,
AJith.

Thanks for your post. It may ruin her future. In the alternative this may brighten up her future -- like many leaders who have gone to prison on such reasons also are faring well afterwards. it depends on her luck also to certain extent. Have a good day

That's a wonderful point my friend. Many politicians have become more famous by going to jail. but all those people went to jail due to the inefficiency of the judiciary.
Kanimozhi case is different. she was arrested because she was responsible for a scam. and that won't be accepted well by the people- especially tamilians. because they are more innocent minded and never forgive people who cheat them.
But still, there might be a change in attitude if she has luck.

I hold a slightly different view. Stalin became famous after being jailed under MISA. Jayalalitha though she was jailed for corruption charges is still famous and has become CM. Time will make people forget bad things as long as people appear to be doing good to others. I am not supporting Kanimozhi. My only idea if only really she is not responsible and some other male/female is behind the happenings? God will take care of it. have a good day

Fact is that there are women who are just as dishonest as some men, and sometimes even better at it!
Greed, desire for power, all the 'sins' are equal between the sexes. Those who rise to power and abuse it often leave office with no respect from those who once looked to them for leadership. The simple fact is that people feel betrayed.

Just wanted to point out that placing women on pedestals doesn't make them less human, or that women can't be equal to men in all aspects, including dishonesty.
Have to admit though, if the pedestal isn't too high it could allow us short gals a chance to see over the crowd.

Several incidents of this kind are being happened every where in India. But nobody seems to be learnt a lesson from this. The leaders of such a stature must be like a mentor to all the people. But greed, desire to possess power, possession of unlimted wealth etc., are making them to resort to thes unlawful things. The people those who follow them has to change and elect those who really serve the people.
