I love Robin Williams! I know a lot of people loved him in that "Mork & Mindy" show but he's proved over the years that he's far more versatile than that and I think he's great!
My favourite films of his are "Awakenings" (as he upstaged Robert De Niro) and "Dead Poets' Society" although "Good Morning, Vietnam!" is up there amongst his best as well. I also like "The Fisher King" but it's such a long time since I've seen that film I've forgotten what it's about lol.
How about you? Do you rate Robin Williams as an actor? What's he up to now, anyone know?

I love Robin Williams!! How could anyone not love him? I think I've seen just about all of his movies and have only seen one that I really didn't care for. It was one where he was a photo developer?? Can't remember the name of it. "What dreams may come" is awesome. I don't know what he's up to these days. Now that you mention it, it's been a while since I've heard of anything new from him.

Sid how are you long time no see. I just recommend the photo one to Janey down below in my comment. "One Hour Photo", I Like the darker kind of movies being a horror fan. I thought Robin was excellent in it and it shows what a diverse actor he is. You know I have not seen "What Dreams May come" but I have heard it is beautiful, I must check it out.

I do like him as an actor. I thought it was particularly good casting when he played Popeye.

I never even knew he played Popeye. Was that the name of the film?

That's a blast from the past. He made "Popeye" back at the end of the 70s, released in 1980 - here's a link to the info on it: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081353/

The thing with Robin Williams, and I like him as an actor, is that he is at his best in comedies when he is given freedom to adlib. What I mean is you watch “Good Morning, Vietnam” and “Mrs. Doubtfire” and you can tell that he is adlibbing much of the comedy and so he is funny. But then you watch something like “RV” and it is utterly dull because Williams has obviously been restrained by a script with no freedom to do what he does best.
My favourite of William’s movies has to be “Patch Adams” because you get both sides of his ability, there are moments where he shows what a good serious actor he is, intone with the emotion of the drama. But then you also get the wild humour with Williams obviously adlibbing.

Hello! "Good Morning Vietnam!" is such an awesome film and I never realised he adlibbed in it. When I think about it though, it makes sense!
I've not seen "Patch Adams" or "Mrs Doubtfire" either, amazingly.
So many films..so little time!

That guy will prevent anyone from falling asleep. I swear he must be hooked up on speed.
I loved Good Morning Vietnam. He's really good and I have no idea what he's up to lately. Maybe he's resting? lol He's way too intense though on talk shows. Id hate to have him as a neighbor or family (OMG)!! But he's SO FUNNY!!

I'd love to invite him as a "guest" on "Come Dine With Me." Do you see that show over there?

Mmmmm I can tell you right now that if you were to dine with him......you wouldnt eat much or laugh so hard you'd spit your food out or choke.....but what a great lunch it would be haha!!

I think he's good also. I liked him in the movies you mentioned and that other one, one hour photo and don't forget, cadillac man and don't forget Bicentennial Man. Yes he is very versatile. He has had a long career and many great movies. You know, Mork and Mindy was a spin off of Happy Days. There is a rumor that he might play the part of Hugo Strange in the new Batman movie Dark Knight Rises.

Hi. Janey1966. I will rate him as a ten, as an actor. He is a great actor and he is so funny! I remember watching one of his movies, a long time ago and it was about a woman being dressed as a man. It was called, Mrs. Doubtfire! This was a very funny movie, I laughed almost the entire time that this movie was on. When I had seen this movie, I was very eager to watch the rest of Robin's movies too. I haven't seen his other movies, but I would love too. I think that I may have seen a couple of them, but I just can't remember everything about the movie though. As far as what he is up to now, I am not so sure. I thought that he was deceased, but I may be wrong.

I really do love Robin Williams. I think that he's really funny. I have to say though that he has played some roles, which surprised me in a good way. I saw him in One-Hour Photo, which is very different that some of the roles he usually plays. However, I still thought that he was really good in that. I sure enjoy him as a actor.

I'm glad you like him as much as I do! I love his face..you can read what he's thinking by looking at his face. I like that in an actor.

I really enjoyed him in 'Bicentennial Man' too. I thought he made a tremendous android and it was hard to believe there actually was a man inside the suit! Later, when he started to become more human-like, I loved the range of confused emotions his was able to convey. He also handled the very poignant ending extremely well. I can't imagine another actor who would have been able to do that.
I also like him in 'Patch Adams' and Mrs 'Doubtfire'.

As an actor, Robin Williams is an 11, in that he is so talented. He has tremendous ability, in that he is outstanding in both comedy and drama, and he can also do so many dialects and accents, and he slips in to character of whatever role he's playing, so beautifully.

Ribin williams just keeps better with age. i enjoyed his his antics on Mork and Mindy. robin /williams could always make me laugh. he just had this spark on just the edge of insanity and khe knew how to keep you there with him. he is still doing that. Just when you think he cant surprise or oberwhelm you he finds a way to do just that. i will forever be a fan of /robin williams.

I will always be a fan too. He doesn't mumble either which is something I hate with actors. I adore Kiefer Sutherland BUT he has been known to mumble incessantly in "24" and I can't understand why as he doesn't when he's being interviewed!

Gosh how do I rate him a 10+. Though he is so known for his comedy, which I absolutely love. I absolutely loved him in the toughest role he did which was one hour photo.
I think that was about the more serious role he has ever done and was absolutely great in that.
He is doing Broadway last I heard and did very well with:
Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo
Hey here is his official website:

So true. That really was a good role. Have you seen What Dreams May Come? Another more serious role he was great in, was in Good Will Hunting. That is a really great movie, too!

I love Robin Williams. I think he is very funny. I think Mrs. Doubtfire was one of my favorites...also he is many of the voices in the cartoon movie - Happy Feet and is very funny in that as well!

I love actors who can act in funny ways but also have a serious side. I thought Michael Douglas was brilliant in "Falling Down" for example. Dark and funny all at the same time!
Why am I going on about Michael Douglas? I've absolutely no idea!

Robin Williams is one of my favorites too. I like pretty much all of his movies. What I like the best is to watch him on interviews! His sense of humour is outrageous!! He if he tries to be serious, he ends up being funny.
