Just as what I indicated with my previous posts. I've been conscious of my weight. My face fat, and body fat. I've been thinking of doing some exercise and while I;m at it. Might as well figure out which exercise will help me burn more calories than other types of exercises.
I searched about it, of course. I was surprised though that even sleeping can help us burn calories. And also eating?! Doesn't eating increase the food intake and make us gain more weight? or perhaps it's the exerise of chewing that counts?
So far running and skipping with rope is the exercise which I've searched that'll help me burn more calories.
So what about you mylotters? What's your best type of exercise to burn those calories?
Happy mylotting!

I like to dance!! I put on music that I like and just dance around the room. It is also a wonderful stress reliever and not only makes me feel happy but burns quite a few calories. Try it!!

I like swimming because while it might not be the exercise that burns the most calories, it is certainly the one which is the most effective as toning up the body at the same time as burning calories. It is very important that we don't just lose weight, because this can leave us with excess skin at the end of the process, whereas if we lose weight by exercising as well as dieting then we are much less likely to be left with this effect at the end, and will therefore be much happier with the result on our bodies when we have finished the exercise.

For me, the best way to burn calories is by continuous walking especially in the morning when the sun shines. When you perspire while walking, you burn some calories.
Also, when doing some exercise, you need to make sure that the food that you eat everyday is very less in calories. In my experience, when I eat vegetables everyday, I lose some weight, compared when I eat meat with vegetables.
On the other hand, I think sleeping can somehow increase our weight. However, I do not recommend that you will not sleep since sleeping is the best way to keep our cells healthy because sleeping promotes cell regeneration.
I hope this would help to you in any way. Happy mylotting!

My ultimate fave was to speed walk/ jog on my treadmill with some rocking tunes! but, i moved to a new place & am on the 2nd floor, so i didn't want to lug it up here & i don't want to annoy my neighbors! so, now, i go to a local park & hike & they are steep trails!
If not...just crank the tunes & dance around your place! that's fun too! :)-

We need to understand the basic concept. Its to make the body work. Let it guess. Make it adapt. (And finally to give it enough rest to recuperate...thats where sleeping comes in)
Thats why its better not to stick to a single routine. Mix it up. Including different physical activities in your routine is the best way to lose calories fastest. Include a bit of cardio (like running and skipping), little bit of weights, dancing is also good. So are sports like swimming, tennis, basketball, etc. And finally Yoga. Start with 'Surya pranaam'. Search on the net or buy a book if you dont know an expert. Do 10 reps. Then include more asanas, pranayam (breathing exercises) and a little bit of meditation to make your yoga practice more complete.
A little more on your chosen activities running and skipping. While doing both these activities don't maintan a stady pace. Switch speeds with each minute. Even differentiate between fast and slow...slow, fast, slower, fastest, slowest, faster... hope you get it.

I like skipping, jumping makes me happy. It feels like I am still a kid in every way. I do jog in the field once in a blue moon. I have lost 8kgs in one year time including taking healthy meals. It may seem a little because I am only average built 63kgs 5 feet 1. But now I am 55kgs. I think its okay now. I don't want to be too small either it looks like I am a 12 year old boy whereas I am a 30 year old woman.
Cheers :)

In order to burn off calories effectively it has to be some kind aerobic exercise and that can be anything from regular cycling to regular swimming. I think those two forms of exercise are the best and I prefer cycling, I cycle on a daily basis. I would love to swim as well but obviously finances are an issue there. My local swimming pool is twenty minutes walk so not too far.
If you are just starting out then it's a good idea to take things slowly and gradually build up and increase your performance. You have to decide which exercise you would like though as it's pointless taking part in an exercise that you don't enjoy as there is the risk that you will just quit or give up. I have heard about the sleeping idea contributing towards losing weight although I don't know too much about that or how effective it may or may not be.
I think it's a good idea to cut down on the calories you eat each day, I'm trying to do this myself and I believe the official recommendation is that men require at least 2500 calories per day and for women I think it's about 2000 calories. If you go above these figures then apparently you are eating too much. I even created a file on my computer to record my calorie intake each day. I'm just pleased that I'm doing something towards losing weight. I have to lose some more around my waist. Andrew

Yeah it's true sleeping can burn calories it can even makes you hungry from the time you wake up. Well there are a lot of ways to burn fats. Anything you do as long as your are sweating much it will wash away your fats. Just simply like doing all the house chores everyday. But if you want to maintain your body free from much calories you gotta discipline yourself. Eat wisely, more fruits and vege instead of fast foods and high cholesterol food.

I am surprised with that too. sleeping can help us burn fats? Also eating? LOL.
Well as for any exercise, I do jog. I love jogging, it makes me feel active and refreshed. Plus I burn a lot of calories and release a lot of toxins from my body through perspiration. :)
Skipping rope would be good too, but I am not used to it. I just really jog. :)

I've read that before somewhere that eating the right food could lessen our calories. The one thing that i was shocked about was the soy products. It is said that it builds up stubborn fats! I tried not eating any soy ingredients and I did not exercise (just to try and see if I gained or lose weight) for around a month. It was effective for me because I did not gain that much but I ate a lot of healthy foods.
Well anyway, if it is a school time, I would participate in some sports like volleyball and dance (especially DDR or PIU). I would sometimes play basketball too. If it's a holiday, I don't really exercise that much. I only do stretching exercises.

The best type of exercise to burn calories is the kind of exercise that you love doing.
I read somewhere that cardio exercises, like running, burn calories more. However, I believe that it is effective only when it is done regularly. Since I also wanted to lose weight, I tried to get into the habit of running. I bought running shoes and sports outfit to get me started. I even searched from the internet tips on how to start running. I found this 21day program that gives daily running routine. However, i only got to finish day 10. It's hard to get to a regular running schedule because of the constant change of weather in our locality. Plus, every time I run it feels like a hurdle. Now, my running shoes are gathering dust on the shoe rack. I hope I can get back to running before the shoes disintegrates.
Now, i'm trying yoga. I don't know the calorie-burning rate of yoga but I like doing it better, thus, I'm sticking to yoga. Then, I plan to cross-train running and yoga... good luck to me.
How about you, what exercises have you tried that you like or love doing regularly? Were you successful getting into the habit of doing it regularly?
