Seems like everyone is trying to control your life. Everyone has a cookie cutter idea of what you should be and what you should do. Everybody is making rules and telling you how to act. Religion tends to want you to live a conservative life while society pushes that fun and exitement should be the only goal. Who will you listen to?? Who is right?? What does God want and expect of you?? God gives everyone a different view. We should cherish that instead of push people to our cookie cutter image. Diversity is our strength!! By giving everyone a different view, God guaranties us a larger view than any one person could have. Our diversity of view helps teach each of us what we really need to learn. Allow Freedom and you allow Learning. Constrict people to a cookie cutter life and much will be missing. God has ways far beyond what you can imagine. God will work around your free choices to shape your education regardless. Be who you must!! It's a part of the plan!! Don't allow religion, society, or anyone to convince you that you are less than anyone else. Your view is important as anyone's. Stand proud. If people ridicule you in any way, realize their view is narrow. Make them your best friend so you can be sure they get a chance to really see your view. OK, all you Special people out there. Share your views. This isn't fancy dress. Come as you are.

Everybody has his likes and dislikes as well as his own lifestyle, but those must be restricted within the law and standards of social conduct which vary from country to country and from nationality to nationality. So long as we don't violate tha law and the behavioural norm,we may well enjoy life and let it be rich and colourful rather than live a cookie cutter life.

What about Civil disobedience??? What do you do when a law is wrong??? Should one accept it anyway??? I think not. Interaction teaches and changes people. In time everyone learns and grows. If we avoid this, people will hurt until it becomes easier for them to change. It isn't always pretty but it is reality.

Interesting. I tend to develop a proper blend. :) I need to be happy for sure, and if some fun and entertainment is what I need, i wont hesitate seeking it. But there are moments and plenty of them when I want to be alone as well. I think being happy is not about either of the two. It is about being you. So if I can do either of the two, I am happy enough because it is my choice. I wont step on others toes, unless my toe is stepped upon. Of course, if it is deliberate, I will retaliate so that the person who is doing it realizes how it feels to be stepped upon. Kinda lesson more than revenge actually. I also believe that adjusting to wrong would make the person more daring to do similar things to me and others. So I do need to nip it in bud so that another person doesnt suffer it as much as I did. I may be wrong in my thinking. May be you can clarify.

Isn't it an act of love to be willing to go through Drama in order that someone else sees??? If we ignore the problem, they think nothing is wrong. We must never allow that. One can tell the difference in that there should be no hate, malice, or even anger. Interaction when done with love and kindness shines so much brighter than hate, anger, and revenge. Let's also not forget that angry people rarely think. We are trying to reach the reason portion as well. Yes, I can see you are well balanced. I really like it when people listen to the advice of others but make their own choices. Very good!! We must also strive not to demand or force our will on others rather nurture their knowledge and free choices gently pointing in the right direction. Who knows they might also point in a direction we haven't considered. Isn't diversity wonderful??? Let's all not control that out of our lives. Always good hearing from you Vandy.

I don't believe that anyone should have to live a cookie cutter life. I don't think that religion or society give you notion that you should live your life in that way. it would take away your indivciduality, character and personality to do so.

Isn't some of this happening as we speak. Don't some catholic schools require everyone to wear the same clothes? What about peer pressure in schools and society to fit in?? In religion, you are one of the flock or an outsider. I have even heard some religious people say they are fighting a war for God to get believers. God does not war!! We should nurture the diverity of ourselves and others. When we see others ridicule, laugh or put down others because they are different, we should stand up instead of agree and go along with the crowd. Point in the right direction. God allows freedom to express that which is special about each of His children. Why should we claim to know better by doing otherwise? Sometimes the most wonderful pieces of the puzzle of life come packaged funny. How can we see the picture without these pieces. What kind of picture would we have if all the pieces were the same? Why should people think their way should be the cookie cutter mold for everyone??? It would be a very dull world if we were all the same. Look how much we would miss.

I don't think "religion" pushes a cookie cutter idea of what you should be. Religion is God. So everything you said about God is religion. Maybe the "church" or "America"(not religion) pushes cookie cutter "conservative" images. And yes, diversity is our strength! Well said! I think God wants us to shine a new light to the world. Everyone's purpose is unique. Maybe some people should live a safe, conservative lifestyle. On the other hand, I believe some people were put on Earth to live non-conventional, risky, missionary lifestyles. People make a difference in different ways. I think, as Americans, we have a certain perception of what the ideal person is or the ideal way of life. However, I think God's version of success is completely different that what we have painted.

Religion is mankind's attempt at understanding God. Religion is not God nor is God religion. God does not belong to any religion. Yes, God's version of success is a much different picture than that of mankind. Mankind's narrow and controlling view prevents so much. Indeed, this world takes all kinds. Diversity is our strength. That's why cookie cutter ideas and lives are not a wise choice. The true picture of what God is showing will never be seen unless everyone is free to express that which is special about themselves. The controlling nature of mankind fights to prevent this. All the secrets of the universe stares us in the face. With an open mind and a wide view so much more can be seen.
