Why do you listen to music? What genre is it? How does it make you feel?

I listen to music because it makes me happy/happier. Sometimes, or most of the time I feel generally unhappy in life because I have chronic disequalibarium. I love thrash metal, particually, Megadeth. They have such emotional songs and they all speak the truth.

I listen to music for my mind to escape my daily life at times. On walks just so that walking is more enjoyable and to help me enjoy house cleaning. I love to listen to Techno Music mostly. I listen to some rock. I don't have any favorite artists, just listen to random songs.

I normally listen to almost all kids of genre except RNB and Hip-Hop..you name it, but my most fave type of music is heavy metal, it makes me feel vivid and alive when I'm a little stressed. I like Metallica, Slayer, Cradle of Filth, Pantera and Sepultura and also Megadeth. There are also times that I wanna listen to the lighter side like Mellow and Acoustic Rock, but it usually depends on the mood that I am having everyday.

I listen to punk-like stuff. Maybe skapunk. Most of the time it makes me feel happy, less angry. It depends on what my mindset is before I start to listen, though.

I listen to music for pleasure mainly, but also out of curiosity. When I was younger, the only way I could hear the music I craved was on TV, the radio, or by buying an album. If I wanted to hear an album by my favourite artist, I had to get the money somehow, which was not always easy, and then buy the album, or send off for it. It was an incredible thrill to receive the album of your dreams in the post, to unwrap it, and then put it on your stereo: albums were a rarity in your life; somethign rare and precious I think the thrill came partly because what you had was hard to come by. But the upshot was that at any given time, you only heard quite literally a fraction of the music that was around. You missed whole albums of even your favourite artists: there was no way you could hear them. So today, thanks to sites such as You Tube and Spotify, I am able to hear albums I never had the chance to hear before. And for free too. It's a strange experience; and sometimes I don't know where to start. I've got so much music to catch up on...even coming from artists I once considered my favourites.

Wow, buckle up and pin those ears back!
No, really, I listen to all kinds of music, spanning centuries, and for different effects.
I love Mozart when I want to chill, Beethoven when I want a bit MORE to listen to, I absolutely love bagpipe music, it's like going home, The Black Bear, Scotland the Brave etc, it's truly uplifting. Irish music, The Pogues, The Dubliners, and loads more, beautiful music for all occasions, dancing, weeping, laughing.
The Mudmen - yahoo! - more bagpipes, hold on.
The Pistols, Cream (Eric Clapton. Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce), The Stones, Rod Stewart, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, SCOOTER,I could go on forever. I use music to lift myself up, bring myself down, chill, escape the world, concentrate.

I actually listen to all genres of music. That is how many personalities I have. I'm just kidding. I listen to everything as long as it is good music. I don't just stuck on one genre of music just because that is what think what is cool. I try to listen to everything since music is meant to be listened. Music is the universal language so I don't just listen based on genre.
