Yes i am talking about the Indian Premier League. I am not against the concept but i am against the bad effect of this. As now this is affecting the international cricket. Players dont care about their international career due to IPL as they are getting more money here, no matter which country they belong to. I have seen that many of Indian star players asked for rest from the upcoming West indies series as they were playing in IPL. why did they not ask for rest during the IPL and go for series. what you think.

Hi anurag,
Thats what I am wondering about. There is, it seems role reverse between BCCI and the senior players. BCCI can not force any veteran like Sachin not to play in the ipl for there is a tour ahead immediately after the ipl is over.
And see, why theswe players after a tiring World Cup campaign put themselves into the ipl despite knowing the schedule that they are to travel to the West Indies.
This is many magic.
And many would love to call them national heroes. What is important professional club cricket or cricket representing the nation which is their duty?
And that the selection committee has rested the senior players is a white lie. The fact is they requested the board to exempt them from this tour.
This is the nature of our players' commitment. huh.

I agree with you, but is it justified and we accept them each time as a national hero while they are putting money at a higher priority over country.
Can a hockey player or any other sports man think to earn this money even in 10 years what an IPL player earn in a season.

IPL is and was always a game of money. That is the main purpose for which it was brought forth. It is just like the football leagues where players dont care about their international matches but care for their club only, like lionel messy does.I hope league cricket wont take away the fun of international cricket.

yes IPL is game for money from the starting. Players in IPL plays much better than they perform when they paly for nation. For example CHRIS GAYLE is playing so good he has never performed like this when he plays for his nation. No doubt players also see their future if they perform better better will be their rates in the next IPL.No doubt plyaers play for money in IPL & IPL pays them so much money that they would never ever earn in their carrier if they paly for the nation. This is the reason why ENGLAND & PAKISTAN players are very keen to paly in IPL they do need money.
