Imagine you are moving to a different country for a year. You can take two suitcases and one small carry-on bag. What would you take with you, and what would you leave behind?
In the fall I am moving to South Korea for a year, and I am starting to plan what I should take with me. I've only been overseas once, and that was only for a month. I'm really good at planning and packing, but I think that getting input from other people might help me think of things that I might miss otherwise. So whether you are an experienced traveler or just like to imagine traveling, I would love to hear from you!

I traveled around the world for just over one year. I took my handbag, my backpack and my day pack. If I had to take two suitcases and a small carry on bag I would write a packing list and keep to it.
Here is my list:
2 t shirts
2 skirts
2 pairs of trousers
2 cardigans
2 bras
7 pairs of knickers
5 pairs of socks
1 night dress
1 swimming costume
1 pair of beach shoes
my snorkeling mask
1 travel towel
contact lenses
a small mirror
deodorant
a comb
toothpaste
toothbrush
shampoo
conditioner
diapers
catheters
baby wipes
cups and bottles
soya powder
vegan snacks
a note book
a pencil case with pens in it
my name and address book
3 dresses for my daughter
2 pairs of shoes for my daughter
3 vests for my daughter
3 pairs of trousers for my son
3 vests for my son
my sunglasses
my sunhat
I am an experienced traveler and I travel as light as possible. I hope that you will enjoy living in South Korea.

I will probably need to take a slightly wider variety of clothes, because I'll need them for both my job and for sightseeing- but then, I don't have a child to pack for, so I probably have more space for my own stuff than you do. I had planned to leave my sun hat behind with the rest of my archaeology field kit, but now that you mention it, I realized that I will probably need it for hiking in S. Korea. Thanks!
