The third (and final, so I hear) Christopher Nolan Batman film will be coming out at some point in the near future. It's been some time now that they've announced the primary villains will be Catwoman and Bane.
How does everyone feel about using them (again)? Personally, I'm still somewhat disappointed they decided once again to go with "the same old same old" in ways of villains. I guess I'm disappointed in that there are so many interesting Batman villains to choose from and they go with the same common ones we see and hear about all the time. I'm not saying they're horrible characters or anything.
I knew they wouldn't, but I remember hoping they would choose the Ventriloquist, Mad Hatter, or Black Mask. I think all three could have at least fairly easily been worked into the "realistic Batman universe" Nolan was going with.
What about you? Was there a villain you were hoping they'd use? Were Catwoman and/or Bane one (or both) of your choices even before being revealed?

I never heard it was catwoman and Bane, though this doesn't surprise me. I don't mind that they are reusing them. The old Batman movie with them sucked. One of the worst movies I have ever seen, in my mind. These new ones have been great and maybe they can properly re-invent it all.

I think a lot of people agree with Batman and Robin was not a good movie. I agree as well!

Don't judge the film as of yet, the choice of characters is just a part (not a minor one, I admit) of the film. There's much more to the movie.
And anyways, not everyone's a Batman history worm to come to realize the repetitive villains. There's a lot of audience out there for just the thrill or action the movie offers.

I'm not judging the film. I'm sure I'll enjoy it as I did the first two (hopefully). But that doesn't mean I'm not or can't be disappointed with the character choices, however good they may turn out to be. I'm sure (again hopefully lol) they'll do fine (unlike what a lot of people felt towards Venom and Sandman in Spiderman 3) but still.
I guess I just feel it would have been nice seeing other characters given a shot in the movies like in Batman Begins is part of why I feel kind of disappointed is all, as far as that's concerned. Oh well, it is the way it is I guess.

I hadn't heard that the next Batman would be the last. I'm more disappointed in that than I am his choice of villains. It would be cool to see how he would depict the Riddler, or the Penguin but it will also be interesting to see Anne Hathaway portray Catwoman. Bane was used only one other time in the earlier series of films that were started with Tim Burton and Michael Keaton. At least in Nolan's film Bane will be a more significant villain than a musclebound sidekick. As far as the Ventriloquist, the Mad Hatter, and Black Mask, I had never heard of them so I can't say I'm disappointed that they weren't chosen. I'm not so sure that the next movie will have the same success that The Dark Knight had. Of course, that was due to the Oscar-worthy performance the late Heath Ledger gave as the Joker. It's a shame the next Batman film will be the last(if it's true) but I'll still look forward to it.

I've heard it'll be, at the very least will be for Nolan as apparently he's moving on to Superman once this is finished. I think at one point the Riddler was rumored to have been the or one of the villains, but I guess they either decided against it or it was never really on the table to begin with.
But yeah, at least he won't be a mindless henchman or sidekick this time.

I am ok with it and I think it will be interesting to see Catwoman get the Nolan make over, who does not like Catwoman Bane I am not too fond of but then Nolan might make it work, infact I know he will.
I do agree with you though Black Mask could have made for a very interesting story.
