Inviting Suggestions for improving mylot site.

Hello, i am new mylot user , i enjoyed the site so much, and having fun. But i'v seen some options needed to be require on mylot, like: when someone responded to any of my discussion, i should be informed by mylot instantly, so that i can read the response and give comment timely. Otherwise how do i come to know that i got a response on any of my discussions. I have to constantly check my discussions , wheather i got any response or not.
How'd you like my suggestion , understand or not my point?? Tell me.
You are also invited to give suggestion for improving mylot website.

Before coming out with more suggestions,it would be nice if you went through all the faqs and guidelines. There is so much for you to read and assimilate and after doing it if you still find you can contribute you can thrash out your suggestions here. We also have in our midst the myLot Admin. You could send him a friend request at
http://www.mylot.com/GoAskAlice and give him your suggestions. But for this I suggest you wait and first grasp all what is there in the faqs and guidelines.

One more thing. If you ask for clarifications which are already in the faqs and guidelines there is a chance that your topic will be deleted and along with it all the responses too. So you need to be careful about this.

Just like you said, you are a new user. New users often start posting before they have had a good look round and miss a lot of the options here.
If you want to know when someone responds to your topic then go here:

Ti8ck the boxes that interest you and then check the mail that you used when you registered.
The only improvement that I would like to see (and this is not aimed at you but in general) is that new users, before they can post, should pass some sort of test, like a quiz, to see if they have understood what to do here. It would help them to get the best out of myLot right from the start!

These are the notifiers:

°email me when I am awarded a best response
°email me when someone accepts my friendship request
°email me when I receive a private message or profile comment
I have highlighted the ONLY one that concerns the topics we star. We ONLY receive a notifier when someone responds on it with a new box. We do not receiver notifers when comments are added.
I have underlined the one concerning comments that you receive when you make responses on topics started by others, not those started by you.

Thanks but i already know this, the issue is i am not getting emails still i on my email notifiers.
Not only the one who you putted as star other also.

hi, yes i m also finding it difficult to knw who responded to my discussion as i have to check all the time down and cant respond as soon as the other person responds to the discussion , if this can be done some what ease then we can hav a continuous discussion without a time gap and it would be more fun and working on mylot.

Many of us give you the link so that you can then go a look yourself - and youmight find even more information that you werenot aware of too.
If you are going for a car drive, do you ask the passengers to check the map if it is you who is doing the driving?

yes i cheked it already , everyone give a link to the faq or guidelines , if people here are so experienced thn why not tell straightoff, why give a suggestion to go read frequently asked question or guidelines , wh y everone passes the probelm to the other end rather just explainig it .

Ya , but mylot send you the notifications to your email id daily or immediatly or what so ever , but it sends to your email id , so why do you worry..

Yes they do send them - but ONLY if you have the notifiers to 'on'.
The only notifications which are automatic are those concerning deleted posts.

amrita, I am facing problem that i am not getting mail, still mylot notification is on.
And one more thing for you, if you are here for earn money then , make your response as 3-5 lines longer, otherwise you don't get paid.

I want one for sure - A compulsory Test for the Newbies to ensure they have read and understood the guidelines of MyLot before they can start any kind of Participation. It would help them a lot in understanding how and what the site really is all about... and once this happens, they will be more safe, happy and satisfied... And all this will make the place still more worthy

I appreciate your suggestion, reading guideline needs to be must, i never took mylot guideline and faqs seriously, because of that i suffer also.
My questions and responses are deleted from mylot.
I think mylot will work upon your suggestion.

From what I understand and in my experience here, responses to discussions are immediately emailed to me. If I comment on a discussion, I also receive and email. I also receive an email if any of my friends start a discussion. What happens is that since mylot members are from all over the world, time zones are different. And of course, some discussions are simply never receive responses. As far as improving mylot, I kind of like it the way it is.
